Emily in Paris actor Lily Collins was married to director Charlie McDowell at Colorado’s Dunton Hot Springs on September 4, 2021. The wedding was a lavish outdoorsy affair with stunning waterfall vistas. Both the bride and the groom come from Hollywood royalty. Let’s take a brief look at the couple’s families and the venue where they tied the knot.
The bride and groom’s families
Lily Collins is the daughter of famed musician Phil Collins. A former member and lead man of the band Genesis, Collins has had a stellar solo career.
In total, his work with Genesis, his work with other artists, as well as his solo career, had more US top 40 singles than any other artist during the 1980s. Recently, Collins reunited with his old bandmates from Genesis to tour and he has written an autobiography titled Not Dead Yet.
Charlie McDowell is the son of Mary Steenbergen and Malcolm McDowell. Steenbergen and McDowell met on the set of the movie Time After Time, in which they both starred, and were married soon after. The couple shares two children together but divorced in 1990.
McDowell is most famous for his role as Alex DeLarge in Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange. He has also done some voiceover work over the years, most of it being animated shows and movies.
One noteworthy role was his work as Reeses II in the animated series Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys, a show that includes references to his own role in A Clockwork Orange.
How much did the wedding cost
The cost of a wedding at the venue is not a bargain by any stretch of the imagination. For starters, there is a three-night minimum and a 17.9% service charge. The package for a small wedding add-on includes the choice of the ceremony location, officiant, bouquet and boutonniere, a bride kit, a rustic wedding cake.
Also included is a private dinner setting for wedding guests following the ceremony, a bottle of champagne with two glasses, a wedding gift of linen handkerchiefs, and a wedding photography session. What is not included in the price of the package are bridesmaid dresses, decorations for the venue, and also the wedding party attire.
The price for a larger wedding, like the one in question, can start at $26,500 per night for up to 44 guests. This price is also seasonal, so the starting price for this wedding would have been somewhere in the ballpark of $45,000 per night for up to 60 guests. For a 3-day event, it would likely add up to more than $118,000.

The couple’s Instagram accounts as well as McDowell’s mother’s account were filled to the brim with beautiful pictures of the event. The weather was absolutely perfect and the lighting was magical. The wedding photography chosen to cover the event was Cedar and Pines.
Collins posted to her Instagram “I’ve never wanted to be someone’s someone more than I do yours, and now I get to be your wife. On September 4th, 2021 we officially became each other’s forever.”
The happy couple has been married now for just a few weeks, but no doubt they are already planning the next steps they will take as husband and wife. Perhaps there will be a few babies to add to the McDowell/Collins dynasty in the next few years.
