Lily Allen 'ran out of a grocery store' upon hearing her song

‘I’m allergic to hearing it… I hate it’: Lily Allen shares topless video from bed as she admits she ‘ran out of a grocery store’ upon hearing her cover version of Somewhere Only We Know

Lily Allen shared a video from the comfort of her bed on Instagram Stories on Tuesday while listening to her cover of Keane song Somewhere Only We Know.

The popstar, 35, looked unimpressed while hearing the popular number, which famously appeared on the 2014 John Lewis Christmas advert.

She wrote: ‘I ran out of a grocery [store] today because this song came on the radio. I am allergic to hearing it. Love ‘keaneofficial, love this song, hate my version.’

The £7million Disney-inspired advert told the story of a selfless hare who is determined to make sure his best friend, a bear, doesn’t miss Christmas for once.

Keane released the song in 2004 and it was the first single they officially brought out from their debut album, Hopes And Fears.

Writer Tim Rice-Oxley, 44, and singer Tom Chaplin, 41, explained the origins of the song in an interview with Vice magazine.

Tom said: ‘My mum and dad ran a school, and we used to sit in the grounds as teenagers, smoking weed and hanging out: I always thought about that place when I sang the song. To me it’s about us as friends and a band, growing up.

Rice-Oxley agreed and said: ‘The song is about us being back and having something to cling to.

‘I picture a particular place in Sussex, just a bit of scrub where we used to go when we were kids.

‘There was a fallen pine tree and it seemed like a place to escape.’

New addition: Lily also shared a picture of her new mini Chanel bag and manicure and a jibe about the government on social media

Festive fun: The singer and mother-of-two also revealed she’s done all her Christmas present wrapping with them all sitting under the tree

Meanwhile, earlier this year, mother-of-two Lily took to Instagram to laud her new healthier lifestyle after she quit drinking.

She told her fans on April: ‘9 months sober today! And the beginning of an ab is appearing. Very pleased!’

Lily recently spoke about how she struggled to enjoy sex when she was younger, yet found it easy seeking pleasure with substance abuse.

The Not Fair singer has always been candid about her drink and drug battles and in July she marked one year sober, something she touched on while talking to Megan Barton Hanson on her You Come First podcast.

Svelte: Lily showed off her toned abs once again on Tuesday as she took to Instagram to share a selfie in her workout gear

The singer told the Love Island star, 26: ‘I found pleasuring myself really difficult in many areas of my life – bar drugs and alcohol which I find easy – but I find it difficult to find the space and time to connect’.

Lily launched the Womanizer Liberty by Lily Allen Rechargeable Clitoral Stimulator back in October and has since been on a mission to break down the taboos surrounding discussion of sexual pleasure.

In her latest chat, Lily, who wed Stranger Things star David Harbour in Las Vegas in September, spoke to Megan, a former exotic dancer and passionate feminist, about the lack of chat around sex and education for women.
