Lil Rel Howery wasn’t surprised when Kanye West and Kim Kardashian named their third child Chicago because he’d already thought of it.
“I think it’s dope,” the comedian recently told Page Six. “Like Chi West. I thought of that name first. Like before Kanye ever had a kid.”
He went on the explain that the name was actually one he used himself well long before the couple’s third child was born in January.
“I used to have a play rapper name and I called myself Chi West,” he continued. “So I thought that was interesting. It was because I’m from the west side of Chicago which is why I did that. So I was like … that’s crazy.”
Best known for his roles in “The Carmichael Show” and “Get Out,” Howery is finally ready to take center stage. His new Fox show, “Rel,” debuts this Sunday.
