Liam Hemsworth has broken his silence on his split from Miley Cyrus, after she was pictured kissing Kaitlynn Carter.
The couple’s split was confirmed just eight months after they tied the knot at their Tennessee home following a ten-year on-off relationship.
And just hours after Miley’s rep released a statement confirming the news, the Can’t Be Tamed singer was pictured kissing Brody Jenner’s ex-wife Kaitlynn on a trip to Lake Como.
So it’s understandable that Liam – who has extended his break in Australia following the break-up announcement – was feeling rather cagey about the break-up.
The 29-year-old ran into Daily Mail Australia as he grabbed a frozen yoghurt with his brother Chris, and said: ‘You don’t understand what it’s like.
‘I don’t want to talk about it, mate.’
The Hunger Games star has remained silent on social media, with his last post being an ad for SIPP Instant Coffee on 4 August.
Meanwhile, his ex has been loving life on the ‘gram, sharing multiple pictures of her ‘Hot Girl Summer’ while holidaying with Kaitlynn, 30, in Italy.
And Miley has also been clapping back at Brody Jenner – who split from Kaitlynn in July – after he joked there’d be pictures of him holding hands with Liam next.
A rep for the former Hannah Montana actress said on 11 August: ‘Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.
‘Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.
‘They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.’
While the split news came as a shock, the final video of the couple out and about in California on 9 July saw them looking super distant, with Miley glued to her phone and walking behind her husband.
Miley and Liam met on the set of The Last Song in 2009, with Liam popping the question in 2012.
However, the couple ended their engagement in 2013, with Miley – who identifies as pansexual – going on to have romances with Patrick Schwarzenegger and Stella Maxwell, while Liam hooked up with Eiza Gonzalez.
But Miley and Liam got back together in 2016, and made it official in December 2018 in an intimate ceremony.
