Laura Anderson 'dumped Gary Lucy two weeks ago'

Pregnant Laura Anderson ‘dumped Gary Lucy two weeks ago’ and ‘vows to raise their child as a single parent’

Laura Anderson ‘ended her brief relationship with Gary Lucy after discovering she was pregnant two weeks ago’ and has ‘vowed’ to raise the child as a single parent.

The former Love Island contestant confirmed her pregnancy in a social media post on Wednesday morning, a fortnight after breaking off her romance with the actor following disagreements over where their unborn baby should be raised.

Lucy, 41, best known for playing Luke Morgan in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, currently lives in Essex, while Scottish reality star Anderson, 33, resides in Glasgow.

And sources claim she is determined to raise the child in her native Scotland, where she is within close reach of immediate family, despite holding crisis talks with Lucy during a recent make-or-break reunion.

An insider told The Sun: ‘Gary’s been left devastated – he’s absolutely heartbroken. They spent Christmas together and he travelled to Glasgow last weekend in a desperate attempt to try to win her back, they enjoyed a meal out and attended their first scan together – but Laura was adamant it’s over.’

Lucy is already a father to children India, now 18, Elvis, 12, Sadie, eight and Theodore, four, from his fourteen year relationship with Natasha Gray; the former couple married in 2014 before separating four years later.

Confirming his separation from Anderson, he told The Sun: ‘I love Laura but we are no longer together.

‘My main drive as always is to work together to co-parent our child. I look forward to the arrival of the new baby.’

Former airline stewardess Anderson shared a first look at her growing bump as she posed in grey Calvin Klein underwear for a mirror selfie.

She previously shared a video featuring herself and Lucy posing with her baby bump at Christmas, which was the last time they were known to be in a relationship.

She’s expecting: Former Love Island star Anderson was clad in underwear as she took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal she is expecting her first baby with her ex-boyfriend

So sweet: Anderson also shared this topless bathroom selfie as she started taking pictures of her growing bump

She captioned the post: ‘The one where we become parents. Baby Lucy due August 2023.’

Oddly, Anderson claimed in an interview released in December that she and Lucy had done anything more than kissing.

The TV personality insisted they were holding off on the physical side of their romance, saying: ‘We haven’t done anything else even though it probably seems like we have because we’re all over each other, but we’re keeping it PG while we’re on the show.’

She told OK! magazine at the time: ‘He makes me feel comfortable and he makes me feel quite adored and protected, which is really nice. He’s a gentleman.

‘I really like that he’s got four kids, because his kids are so cute and they’re his world. He sends me videos and pictures of them and I just think that’s so attractive.’

She added: ‘He’s a really good kisser too, which is always good!’

The pair met while filming E4 show Celebs Go Dating and Laura was by Gary’s side as he crashed his car in a Boxing Day accident, which saw him narrowly miss serious injury.

After professing their love for each other on Instagram, the couple split and removed any trace of their relationship, including photos of them together at Christmas, from social media.

Big news: Lucy also shared a picture of himself holding up a baby grow which had the words: ‘The one where we become parents. Baby Lucy due August 2023’

Double checking: Anderson shared three pregnancy tests (left) and a picture of the scan, (right)

Sharing is caring: She also posted a picture of herself getting a scan with her mother by her side

Anderson was previously in a relationship with singer Dane Bowers but they announced they had split for good in August 2022.

They first struck up a relationship in 2017 before splitting when he cheated on her, rekindling their romance in 2021.

In May last year, Anderson shared with her Instagram followers that she and ex-boyfriend Dane Bowers were having IVF treatment after struggling to fall pregnant.

After they split, she packed up her belongings and moved out of the Dubai home she shared with Bowers just days later.

Anderson found fame on Love Island in 2018, where she made it to the final with model ex-boyfriend Paul Knops.

Happy news: The TV personality shared a series of pictures of her bump along with the announcement

Smile: She looked delighted when her happy news was confirmed

A time to treasure: She and Lucy had been documenting all of their happy moments

Something to look forward to: Anderson has said the baby is due in August 2023

The couple split shortly after the show finished and Anderson then went onto have romances with Love Island 2015 winner Max Morley and The Bachelor UK star Alex Marks.

During her time on Love Island, she dated Wes Nelson and Jack Fowler, with her journey later being described as ‘rocky at best.’

Anderson joined the Celebs Go Dating agency last year, where she met actor Lucy, who had struggled to find a connection since his 2018 divorce.

During the final episode of the series, he told the dating experts that he found love with Anderson and felt she ‘ticked all the boxes.’

He said: ‘I have found someone that makes me really happy, makes me smile and I’m really attracted to, I can chill with, who gives me s***, which I like… I need that as well. I couldn’t be happier at the moment.’

Making memories: Anderson shared another bump picture as she posed in her Versace robe and smiley face slippers

Getting ready: It looks like the couple have been buying lots of presents for their bundle of joy already

Lucy remained coy when asked by Paul Brunson and Anna Williamson whether him and Laura had sex during filming of the show in Cyrus, saying: ‘I’m a gentleman, I don’t talk about stuff like that…’

Predicting the future, Paul said ‘if there’s a baby’, with the soap star replying ‘it’s going to be little Gary!’

But it wasn’t long after going public with their romance that Anderson quickly removed all trace of Lucy from her Instagram and the couple split.

Writing on Instagram, she said: ‘I know I’ve been quiet on here and not myself this week or so.

‘I’m going through a very difficult time, I actually don’t think I’ve ever felt so stressed in my life.

Collecting mementos: She has also been wearing a bracelet which said the words ‘daddy bear’ and ‘baby bear’

Joyous: Anderson has celebrated the news with her friends, holding a balloon which read: ‘it’s a boy or it’s a girl’ (with only half of the words visible)

‘As we know Instagram isn’t real life but over sharing negativity has never been something I like doing. Anyway my thought of the day for us all is – Never lose yourself or your voice.’

And before the post, she re-shared another which talked about ‘the quality of attention’ rather than the speed of a person’s replies.

Hollyoaks star Lucy had a tough time after splitting from his ex-wife.

The actor ending their marriage was a ‘difficult decision’ but the former couple’s focus remained bringing up their children India, Elvis, and Sadie and Theodore, who was born weeks after they announced their split.

A spokesman for the couple told MailOnline at the time: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the end of our marriage.

New man: Despite looking for love with a non-celeb on Celebs Go Dating last year, it was former Hollyoaks actor Lucy who caught her eye

Romance: The lovebirds confessed their attraction to one another on the show

In the past: Anderson was previously in a relationship with singer Dane Bowers but they announced they had split for good in August 2022

‘This was a very difficult decision, but was reached mutually and amicably. No other parties are involved.

‘Our priority is, as always, our children. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision, just two best friends realising it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives possible.

We are still a family and will always be loving, dedicated parents.’
