Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones appear to be living the life on BBC Morning Live, especially when Dr Xand van Tulleken is involved. In a recent interview, Gethin admitted Kym likes a cheeky flirt with the British doctor and TV presenter, but she isn’t alone.

We love our team member Dr Xand. Kym loves a late bit a flirt with him!

When discussing their favourite guests, the Welsh telly star explained: “We love our team member Dr Xand.

“Kym loves a little bit of a flirt with him!”

The Coronation Street actress quickly interrupted and added: “You do as well, you’re terrible for it!”

Gethin was forced to admit: “I’m probably worse actually!”

Dr Xand is best known for presenting the CBBC children’s series Operation Ouch! with his younger twin brother Chris, and also hosted the Channel 4 show How to Lose Weight Well.

He has been dubbed the Beeb’s version of ITV’s Dr Hilary Jones, Good Morning Britain’s all-time favourite doctor who has appeared on the show weekdays throughout the coronavirus pandemic to inform and advise on any queries viewers and the presenter had about the rules and restrictions.

Xand is part of the BBC Daytime presenting family including Rav Wilding (Crimewatch Roadshow), Anna Haugh (Ready Steady Cook), Will Kirk (The Repair Shop) and Sabrina Grant (Saved and Remade – w/t).

But Kym revealed there was also another famous face that she enjoyed having on the show.

“I also loved having Nicki Champs on,” she told OK! Magazine.

“That woman is a massive part of my history.”

Kym met Nicki after winning a place in the band Hear’Say on the 2001 series of Popstars, in which the latter was a judge.

“She was a big part of why I’m sitting in the chair on the show anyway,” Kym thanked her pal.

Elsewhere, the actress revealed she had taught Gethin a very firm lesson when he attempted to interfere with her morning routine, suggesting that they come in earlier before the show began – as if those early starts weren’t brutal enough!

Having worked on a soap as big as Coronation Street, Kym’s more than used to having a strict and organised schedule to stick to in order to be on time but this time she wasn’t having any of it.

“Kym was funny last week,” he recalled.

“I suggested coming in earlier and she looked at me like, ‘Are you kidding me? I’m doing my hair at 4.45am.’

He continued: “I’m amazed though, Kym turns up camera-ready at just before 6am!”

Kym chimed in: “I get up at 4:45am and am putting my face on.

“I’ve worked out that since I’ve turned 40, my face takes about four hours to wake up after I have.

She laughed: “I’m putting make-up on over the crease of the pillow!”

BBC One’s Morning Live airs weekdays at 9:15am straight after BBC Breakfast.
