Kylie Jenner Deems Herself a ‘Special Case’ of Self-Made Billionaire After Backlash

AceShowbiz -Earlier this month, Kylie Jenner sparked controversy after Forbes named her the youngest self-made billionaire. While many people think that the makeup mogul doesn’t deserve the title due to her family’s popularity, she has insisted in a new interview that there isn’t any word that can perfectly describe herself other than “self-made.”

Gracing the cover of Interview Germany for its latest issue, the Kylie Cosmetics founder shares with the publication, “There’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth. That is the category that I fall under.” Despite that, she still acknowledges that her family did give her a platform, prompting her to deem herself a “special case” of a self-made billionaire.

“I am a special case because before I started Kylie Cosmetics, I had a huge platform and lots of fans,” she says. “I did not get money from my parents past the age of 15. I used 100 percent of my own money to start the company, not a dime in my bank account is inherited… and I am very proud of that.”

Forbes named Kylie the youngest self-made billionaire after it was revealed that she broke the record which was previously held by Facebook’s co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckenberg, who reached the billion dollar-mark when he was 23. Kylie, on the other hand, reached the mark at 21 years old.

Talking about her milestone with Interview Germany, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star admits she is surprised by the booming success of her company. “I never thought that this could happen. I believe in Kylie Cosmetics but I didn’t even know what I was getting myself into,” she notes. “It feels amazing, it’s wild, and being the youngest ever to do it is a blessing. I now want to focus on giving back to people and doing things that I’m passionate about.”

Kylie goes on saying how she hopes she will be remembered as someone who “pushed boundaries, inspired them, worked incredibly hard, set trends and made history with my business all at young age.” She continues, “I hope to inspire other young women to know that there are no limits and to work hard for what you believe in.”
