Kerry Washington Has a Private Instagram Where She Shares Photos of Her Three Kids

Kerry Washington is known for the extreme amount of privacy she maintains when it comes to her marriage and children. In a recent interview, right after the release of American Son, she talked about how she works her way around not posting the kids on social media.

Who is Kerry Washington’s husband?

Washington married actor, producer and former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha in 2013. The 38-year-old is of Nigerian descent. After attending the University of California at Berkely, he played in the NFL from 2003-2013. He was on three teams: the Oakland Raiders, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the San Francisco 49ers.

As an actor, he made his first appearance on an episode of The Game on The CW in 2008. He’s also appeared in television shows and films like Friday Night Lights and Leverage. He’s most known for his role in the film Crown Heights opposite Lakeith Stanfield. He earned critical acclaim for his role in the movie.

He’s also very active in producing as well. He executive produced Beasts of No Nation and also produced Crown Heights. In 2020, he’ll star in and produce the film Sylvie. The film also stars Tessa Thompson, Aja Naomi King, Eva Longoria, and Ryan Michelle Bathe.

Kerry Washington has always been secretive about her family life

For a while now, Washington has been very secretive about her life with her husband and kids. Until recent years, Washington rarely appeared with her husband in public as she does now.

As for her kids, she’s never had them in public and she’s never posted photos of them. Their daughter, Isabelle, was born in 2014. Their son, Caleb, was born in 2016. Washington also refers 13-year-old to Asomugha’s daughter from a previous relationship as her own daughter as well.

In October, she spoke about parenting and her kids in a rare moment. “We get sent by God the kids we need so we can grow in order to be the parents they need us to be. The children I got sent came in perfect, and I have to figure out how to grow and evolve so that I can support the truth of them. I’m in a constant state of learning and challenging myself to make room for their perfection and beauty,” she said.

Why Kerry Washington doesn’t post her children on social media

“I have moments where I take pictures or videos of one of my three amazing kids and I wanna post it online, and I tend to just send it to my parents or my shrink instead,” she said in an upcoming interview with Sunday Today. “I’m like, ‘My kids are so cute and I don’t wanna post about them, so look at how cute they are!’”

Washington says she goes around it through her private Instagram page. “I have a private Instagram for my shrink and he loves it!” Washington says, joking, “It’s not great when I get parenting feedback, incidentally, based on something he heard me [say] in the background of the video.”

You can watch Washington’s new project, American Son, on Netflix now.
