Kendall Jenner returns to the runway for Burberry

Kendall Jenner may have skipped the New York runways this season, but she was back in action at London Fashion Week on Monday.

The model, 22, walked in Riccardo Tisci‘s first show for Burberry after the designer was named creative director of the British brand earlier this year. Tisci previously served as Givenchy’s head designer for 12 years, during which he booked Jenner for both runway shows and ad campaigns and worked with all of the Kardashian-Jenners on countless red carpet looks.

So close is the family with Tisci, in fact, that Kanye West serenaded the designer in 2014 at his 40th birthday party, with Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Kendall among the star-studded crowd.

Tisci previously said that he “started [Kendall’s] modeling career” and is “really close friends” with West (though he claims to have never seen a single episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”).

Jenner’s first runway appearance this season comes after her well-publicized decision to scale back her modeling work for the sake of her mental health.

“Since the beginning we’ve been super selective about what shows I would do,” Jenner told Love magazine earlier this year, to much backlash from her fellow catwalkers. “I was never one of those girls who would do, like, 30 shows a season or whatever the f—k those girls do. More power to ’em.” She further explained that she was “on the verge of a mental breakdown” and therefore chose to commit to fewer shows.

Jenner made only one appearance during New York Fashion Week — Longchamp, since she’s the star of the label’s latest campaign — and sat front row instead of walking in the show.

And while it’s unlikely that Jenner will pop up on other London runways this season, it’s possible she’ll grace the catwalk when Karl Lagerfeld (another Kardashian-Jenner family favorite) unveils his new collection for Fendi in Milan next week.
