‘Katie Price’s shocking divorce settlement could leave Kieran Hayler penniless’

Katie Price’s divorce from Kieran Hayler is thought to have ground to a halt over money woes.

As proceedings stall, the couple are reportedly disagreeing over how to split money earned as a couple .

When they were together, Katie, 40, was cashing in on their every move as a couple on reality TV and in magazine deals but Kieran, 31, is not thought to have got his "fair share".

Instead he largely acted as her ‘house husband’ and stayed home looking after Katie’s five children.

But now the former stripper may still be short-changed as Katie faces bankruptcy.

"The harsh reality in this matter as Mr Hayler will no doubt shortly discover, is that bankruptcy can have a major impact on a divorce settlement," divorce lawyer Vanessa Lloyd Platt exclusively told Mirror Online.

"Kieran claims that during their marriage he appeared on countless reality TV shows for Katie for which he was expecting payment and that he did not receive his ‘fair share’.

"He is now claiming that he wants to be compensated for his fair share when the divorce goes through.

"The reality in this case is that Katie Price built up the entirety of her finances prior to the marriage to Kieran.

"He would have benefited enormously from his relationship with her and the marriage was a very short one.

"In order to succeed in a financial settlement from a short marriage, such as this, he would need to demonstrate quite clearly that the assets are available, that he was entitled to them because he had made such a huge contribution and that he has somehow enhanced her career and her financial position by appearing in her videos.

"It would seem to me, that he cannot get home on any of these points and accordingly the Judge is likely to suggest that her finances have taken a turn for the worst during the relationship, not increased.

"If Katie is made bankrupt then she simply will not have the assets to give to Kieran and she will be able to demonstrate that her concerns are for the needs of the children that she was supporting from pre-made assets.

"In her bankruptcy, she will demonstrate that she cannot meet her financial obligations and anything owed to him, if at all, will be wiped away.

"He will not be able to be regarded as a preferential creditor to be paid before anybody else. That does not apply in divorce proceedings.

"Accordingly, if there is anything left, she will retain it to look after the children and he will have to write this down to experience."
