Karen Clifton ditches married name as Kevin moves on with Stacey Dooley

Karen Clifton is having a reinvention as it has been revealed she plans to ditch her married name following the romance scandal involving her ex-husband Kevin and Strictly co-star Stacey Dooley.

The 37-year-old Venezuelan beauty is returning to her maiden name, Karen Hauer, following the collapse of her marriage to 36-year-old Kevin.

Reports suggest Karen was left feeling betrayed by Kevin after he hid his romance with 32-year-old Stacey with whom he romped to victory on Strictly last December.

When Strictly returns later this year, Karen will be introduced with her maiden name reinstated after her marriage of three years collapsed in 2018 – while it sounds like she might be a bit angry about his romance with Stacey.

“Karen confronted Kevin about his relationship with Stacey at the end of the last series but he was adamant it was purely platonic,” a source has blabbed to The Sun.

“Kevin and Stacey insist they only started dating officially this month but Karen is still annoyed he wasn’t more honest about the situation,” the source continued.

“She had been considering changing her name for a while but this has cemented her decision,” the source went on – before confirming Karen will return to Strictly as Ms Hauer and not Mrs Clifton.

Kevin has been in the headlines in recent weeks as it emerged he had embarked on a romance with investigative journalist Stacey after they were paired, and won, Strictly 2018.

Controversy surrounds the romance as Stacey was in a relationship with Sam Tucknott at the time they performed together on the hit BBC show.

Sam has since claimed Kevin “stole” Stacey from him – and said the pair embarked on a romance behind his back when he was still in a relationship with Stacey.

Meanwhile, Karen has moved on from her failed marriage and has now found love again – with opera singer David Webb.
