Kanye West Shares Video For ‘Wash Us In The Blood’ Featuring Travis Scott

Kanye West released a video for his new song, “Wash Us In The Blood,” featuring a cameo from Travis Scott on Tuesday (June 30).

The song is the first single from West’s upcoming tenth solo studio album, God’s Country

The video, directed by Arthur Jafa, opens with footage from a Black Lives Matter protest and features a clip of Breonna Taylor, the emergency medical technician who was fatally shot by police in her home on March 13.

The clips shows Taylor dancing, as Scott raps, “Execution in 30 states/ 30 states still execute/ Thou shalt not kill/ I should not spill.”

“Wash us in the blood/ Wash us in the blood/ Whole life being thugs/ No choice selling drugs/ South Side what it does,” West raps. “Rain down on us/ Genocide what it does/ Slavery what it does/ Rain down on us.”

“Take some, rain, nonstop, rain don’t want war/Rain come, rain come/Come?shine, come rain, come up,” West sings. “Southside, let it bang/Outside, let it rain/Rain down on a pain/Rain down on the slain.”

“Rain down for my mom/Rain down on the farm/Shower us with your love/Wash us in the blood,” the lyrics continue.

Kanye’s young daughter North West makes a cameo in a video clip from his Sunday Service rehearsals. Dr. Dre did the mixing for “Wash Us In Blood,” while the artwork was done by Jafa.
