‘Duh’: Ye later alluded that the decision for Donda 2 to be Stem Player exclusive had cost him a sponsorship deal with Apple but didn’t seem too broken up about it

Ye later alluded that the decision for Donda 2 to be Stem Player exclusive had cost him a sponsorship deal with Apple but didn’t seem too broken up about it.

He shared a screenshot of a text message which read: ‘From Damian Please inform Ye that the apple is no longer doing the sponsorship deal.’

The artist poked fun at the message by captioning it ‘Duh [eyeroll, smiling face with open mouth and cold sweating emoji]’

His pioneering move to the Stem Player has been met with much skepticism by his rabid fan base.

Fans took to Twitter in their droves expressing their disappointment the rapper, 44, who boasts an estimated £1.8billion net worth, is charging an extortionate amount which many won’t be able to afford.

One wrote: ‘I love Kanye West, but I’m sorry capitalism that I can’t afford to make rich people richer. I ain’t gonna buy the new Stem player just for DONDA 2, even if he emailed it to me personally. If he wants to put it out on, perfect, if not, then hope his album makes numbers.’ (sic).

Another fan added: ‘very, very, very sad that Donda 2 has to be purchased with that speaker, $200’.

A third chimed: ‘Hi I’m Kanye West! I currently have 1.8 Billion dollars to my name. I am releasing Donda 2 on 2/22/22! The only way to listen to Donda 2 however, is to pay a little fee of $200! (plus shipping, of course)’.

Others, however, liked he was waging war on streaming services. One fan said: ‘Tbh I’m sure someone will rip it after a day or two anyway and make it available online…. But it’s definitely a cool idea to do it on there only Kinda makes me wonder how many tracks are on Donda 2 because there is a storage limit on the stem player.’

Another typed: ‘I think @kanyewest should release Donda 2 as an NFT but I understand why he is deciding to release this project on his own platform.

‘I never understand why creators sell there art and culture to corporations to then only get paid a percentage of what your supposed to get.’

‘Donda 2 will only be streaming on my own platform, the stem player. You can download new music from StemPlayer.com,’ he began.
