Julia Roberts and George Clooney star in Ticket to Paradise trailer

Julia Roberts’ romcom return! America’s sweetheart reunites with George Clooney for a FOURTH time as they play warring exes in trailer for romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise

Julia Roberts and George Clooney play warring parents in new comedy Ticket to Paradise, the trailer for which was unveiled on Wednesday.

The mega movie stars have reunited for a fourth time onscreen with the project, that is being helmed by Ol Parker, the British director and screenwriter behind the 2018 musical film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

In the newly-released trailer, we see the stars play exes on a mission to stop their daughter from making the same mistake they did 25 years ago by marrying young.

Encore: Julia Roberts and George Clooney play warring exes in trailer for romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise… as they reunite onscreen for a FOURTH time

Their daughter Lily (played by Kaitlyn Dever) meets the love of her life on a post-graduation jaunt to Bali, which is where her parents must travel to in order to change her mind.

However, judging by the trailer it looks as though Julia and George’s trip to save their daughter ends up being a journey in healing their own problems with each other.

From fighting over being sat next to each other on the same plane, to ending up doing tequila shots and embarrassing their child by dancing –  it seems as though there could be a reconciliation on the cards.

Billie Lourd also makes an appearance in the trailer playing Lily’s best friend Wren.

It’s the fourth time that George and Julia have worked together, after Ocean’s Eleven (2001), Ocean’s Twelve (2004), and Money Monster (2016).

Hilariously, Julia recently warned fans in an interview that the rom com with George will ‘probably be terrible’ in a refreshingly honest chat.

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival last month, she said: ‘It is a romantic comedy. He [George] plays my ex-husband. I think it’s so funny and George is so funny and George and I together, it’s probably going to be terrible because there’s too much potential for it to be great, it’ll just implode on it itself.’

What could possibly go wrong? Hilariously, Julia said last month that the film is ‘probably going to be terrible’

Hilarity ensues: George’s character is rushed to shore after he gets bitten by a dolphin

It’s a scream: George puts on a show after his character gets into trouble in the ocean

Putting a top to it: Their daughter Lily (played by Kaitlyn Dever) meets the love of her life on a post-graduation jaunt to Bali

The odd couple: Their characters are forced to spend time together after many years apart

She went on: ‘I think that should be the commercial for the movie: ‘It’s probably going to be terrible.’

Realizing that her comments probably wouldn’t go down too well with studio executives – she added: ‘I’m so glad my publicist is on a plane right now.’

Julia, 54, has a rumored salary of $20million per movie, while George, 61, is also said to be able to command the same fee.

Ticket to Paradise is scheduled to be theatrically released by Universal Pictures on October 21, 2022.
