Judge Judy Sheindlin new show Judy Justice gets first teaser

Judge Judy’s new show sees highest-paid woman on television bring in her protégé granddaughter Laura Rose in first teaser for Judy Justice: ‘She’s just as snarky as I am!’

Judge Judge a.k.a Judy Sheindlin is back with her new show Judy Justice, which is bringing some fresh faces into the courtroom. 

On Thursday, the first full-length teaser for the IMDb TV shows was released, where the 78-year-old reveals she has brought on her granddaughter Sarah Rose who is a law clerk and is just ‘snarky’ as Judy herself. 

The show will premiere on November 1, with episodes rolling out each weekday on the streaming service.

In May this year year it was reported that Judy – worth an estimated $445million – became the highest paid woman on TV after negotiating a $47million salary for Judge Judy’s 25th season.

It is unclear what Judy’s salary is for her new show but it is rumored to be even higher. 

There are more new recruits too, with ‘nice guy’ bailiff Kevin Rasco and court stenographer Whitney Kumar.

This looks familiar: The new and improved show still shares some similarities with the classic Judge Judy format 

‘Judy Justice is a really exciting new adventure,’ she says in the clip. ‘I have been sort of alone for the last 25 years, now I have a new team. My law clerk happens to be my granddaughter.’ 

She adds: ‘Sarah is wired like I am, she’s a little snarky, I like that!’ 

‘Whitney is a fabulous stenographer,’ Judy adds, with Whitney explaining: ‘I am able to read back the record for her and she can utilize that to verify things.’

‘I’ve known Sarah, our law clerk, since she was born,’ said Judy previously. ‘She will be a third-generation female lawyer in our family. She’s smart, sassy, and opinionated. Who knows where she gets those traits?’ 

Judy has five children – two biological and three stepchildren: Nicole Sheindlin, a lawyer, Gregory Sheindlin, a Manhattan personal injury lawyer, Adam Levy, a lawyer who has served as district attorney in New York and Putnam County. Jamie Hartwright and Jonathan Sheindlin are not in the law field. 

And Judy also has 13 grandchildren. 

Two of her longtime producers, Randy Douthit and Amy Freisleben, will join her on Judy Justice.
