Judas Priest announced that a 648-page coffee table book titled “Judas Priest — 50 Heavy Metal Years,” documenting the band’s half-a-century long history, will be released in December.
The book’s publishers, Rufus Publications said that pre-order starts on September 11 at 3 pm U.K. time on a first come first served basis.
There will be four versions of “50 Heavy Metal Years,” beginning with a Standard Edition, priced at £79, or $102.
The first ever official Judas Priest book has been put together by David Silver, Ross Halfin and Jayne Andrews.
“I’ve photographed Judas Priest from 1978 until now and of all the bands I’ve worked with they are one of the most enjoyable to me – you have to love the mighty Priest,” said Halfin.
“We spearheaded the visual image of metal – breathing new life into it and it has been captured forever in the pages of this book,” said guitarist Glenn Tipton.
Over the past 50 years, Judas Priest’s music has come to define the metal genre with albums such as Sad Wings Of Destiny, British Steel, Defenders of the Faith, Screaming for Vengeance, Painkiller and Firepower.
Their global hits include “Breaking The Law,” “Living After Midnight” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming.”
