Undercover superstar: Singer Jess Glynne bizarrely auditions for The Voice Australia while pranking the coaches who have no idea it’s her – but do they turn their chairs?

She’s a Grammy award-winning pop star.

But on Monday, Jess Glynne put her talents to the test by bizarrely auditioning on The Voice Australia. 

The 29-year-old performed for coaches Boy George, Kelly Rowland, Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian, hoping to impress them enough to turn their chairs.

None of the celebrity coaches had any idea of the prank beforehand.

Instead, they were each expecting another aspiring artist to perform, as they sat with their backs to the stage while Jess began performing her popular track, I’ll Be There. 

Noticing the undercover superstar, the audience quickly jumped to their feet to dance, causing confusion among the coaches.

Once the chorus kicked in, all four of the coaches instantly pressed their buttons and spun around simultaneously. 

As the song finished, Boy George joked: ‘I have to ask… Hello, what’s your name and where are you from?’

‘I’m Jess,’ the British musician responded, with Kelly laughing: ‘We know that!’  

She’s through to the next round! Once the chorus kicked in, all four of the coaches instantly pressed their buttons and spun around simultaneously

Fancy seeing you here! Jess joked she was in Australia on tour when she decided to audition, before hugging Delta and the other coaches 

Boy George then asked what brought Jess onto The Voice Australia. 

‘I’m here doing some shows, a tour,’ explained Jess. ‘You know what, when you’re all [sat] there, it is mad scary. Whoever does this, I’m like really proud. Big up.’

Gushing over the star, Guy responded: ‘I use you as an example [to contestants], when you’re on the radio you sound like nobody else. I love your voice.’

What a pair! Boy George then quizzed Jess on which coach she would have selected as a mentor, if she was indeed a genuine hopeful – with her selecting him

Despite initially refusing to answer, Jess then selected Boy George.
