Jennifer Aniston reunites with ex-husband Justin Theroux as they suffer devastating loss

Jennifer Aniston, 50, who was married to Justin Theroux for two years, got together with her ex-husband to spend time with their rescue dog, Dolly, before she died.

Justin uploaded a series of images of the pooch as they remembered her life surrounded by other members of family.

“Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle… our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield.”

He continued: “She was surrounded by her entire family.”

Justin went on: “‘The one that never deserts, the one that never proves ungrateful… is the dog— faithful and true, even in death’. -George Vest.”

“Rest In Peace Dolly #adoptdontshop #rescuedog,” he added.

In the pictures, Dolly, who Jennifer adopted back in 2006, was laid to rest covered in petals.

Another saw Jennifer and Justin holding hands alongside their beloved dog while a third snap saw Dolly wrapped up in a blanket.

Justin was inundated with comments with many sending the former couple messages of condolences.

One wrote: “I lost my dog today too. My heart is broken. I’m so sorry for your baby.”

Another said: “I’m sorry for your & Jennifer’s loss. She was a beautiful dog. Glad you could both be there for Dolly.”

A third added: “Oh man this is the saddest/most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Sorry for your loss.”

The Friends actress and Justin first began a relationship in 2011 and got married four years later at their estate in Bel Air.

However, the couple separated at the end of 2017.

Jennifer, who was previously married to Brad Pitt for five years, opened up about her split from Justin last year, and admitted she wasn’t “heartbroken”.

She told In Style: “It’s pretty crazy. The misconceptions are ‘Jen can’t keep a man,’ and ‘Jen refuses to have a baby because she’s selfish and committed to her career.’ Or that I’m sad and heartbroken.

“First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken.”

She added: “And second, those are reckless assumptions. No-one knows what’s going on behind closed doors.”

Jennifer also spoke about the pressure she faces about starting a family as she spilled: “No-one considers how sensitive that might be for my partner and me. They don’t know what I’ve been through medically or emotionally.”

The Just Go With It star continued: ”There is a pressure on women to be mothers, and if they are not, then they’re deemed damaged goods.

“Maybe my purpose on this planet isn’t to procreate. Maybe I have other things I’m supposed to do?’”
