‘I beat all the Hemsworths!’ Jason Momoa ‘really stoked’ to be honoured as GQ Australia’s Man of the Year

Actor Jason Momoa was honoured with the title of GQ Australia’s Man of the Year on Wednesday. 

And although the star, 40, was unable to personally accept his well-deserved award, he shared his gratitude with GQ. 

He said: ‘Never in a million years did I think I would be the 2019 GQ Man of the Year. I’m really stoked that I got to beat all the Hemsworths because… you know… I finally deserve this.’

The Hollywood heavyweight, who lived in Australia during 2017 while filming the box office hit Aquaman, also shared his love for the country.

‘Also, Australia, you know I love you,’ he said, ‘I hope I get to come down there for Aquaman 2 and thank you very much for this. Yeah, mate!’

In this past year alone, Jason’s career has gone from strength to strength including the recent release of a brand new series, See, produced by Apple TV+.

He is also set to star in science fiction film Dune alongside a stellar cast with Timothée Chalamet, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård and GQ’s Woman Of The Year Zendaya. 

‘It’s been awesome, man. I had a couple of great things as an actor but also my own stuff,’ the Game of Throne Star said.

Jason has also been heavily involved with environmental activism, notably making an impassioned speech and drawing particular attention to Small Island Developing States such as Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Haiti, Bahamas and Barbados.

Aside from his environmental activism and acting, Jason is also a devoted family man.

He is also a stepfather to Lisa’s first child – daughter Zoë Kravitz, 30 – who she shares with her ex husband musician Lenny Kravitz.
