Jamie Lee Curtis refuses to look at herself in the mirror

Jamie Lee Curtis may have the secret to happiness: shatter all the mirrors in your home!

The 60-year-old actress expressed her feelings on aging to Good Housekeeping saying emphatically, “I don’t look in the mirror.”

As bizarre as it sounds, Curtis explains how she goes about avoiding her reflection like a vampire.

“I am not going to look the same as I used to, and I don’t want to be confronted every day,” she quipped.

The habit even extends to situations where mirrors are tough to avoid. “When I get out of the shower, I have a choice: I can dry myself off looking in the mirror, or I can dry off with my back to it. I turn my back to the mirror, and I feel great.”

Curtis adds, “I don’t want women to hate themselves, because I think women are extraordinary.”

Her mirror aversion tips were among the many pieces of advice she listed for women including learning to “let it go.”

“I am a constant editor,” added the two-time Golden Globe winner. “I shed people, I shed clothing, I shed possessions, I shed ideas. The biggest thing I’ve shed is my own limitations and perception of who I am. How can I expect my agent to think of me in a different way if I don’t think of me in a different way?”

Curtis says people are often looking for a “fast track” to enlightenment when there is no shortcut, she believes.

“It’s sweat equity, sweat equity, sweat equity,” she said.
