Jamie Foxx’s co-star Porscha Coleman has given a health update on his condition two months after his medical emergency and two weeks after John Boyega said ‘no one has heard from’ him.

The 37-year-old actress spoke to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet of the BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday where she gave an update on the 55-year-old A-lister’s health while also admitting that he has always been a private person.

Coleman said: ‘I’ve talked to people very close to Foxx, [he] is doing well. I hate that the media outlets kept running with the narrative of what was going on without having the proper information.’

The actress starred alongside Foxx on Netflix series Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! which began streaming in 2021 as she added: ‘He’s resting. He’s well. And he’s going to be back. Trust and believe.’

Foxx has been hospitalized with an undisclosed medical condition which was first announced by his family on April 12.

Details have been few and far between since – even to friends and castmates – as Coleman said the star has ‘always valued his privacy.’

She explained: ‘If you’ve noticed, Jamie Foxx has always been on the low. … Even when it came to dating.

‘Once I heard the news, of course I reached out, but how Foxx is doing it is how Foxx should be doing it.’

This comes just weeks after Jamie’s other co-star John Boyega has said ‘no one has heard from’ the actor ever since he was hospitalized for a mystery medical emergency in early April this year.

Foxx and Boyega, 31, both star in the new Netflix film They Cloned Tyrone – but the Star Wars actor expressed his concern for Foxx at the movie premiere this week.

‘No one has heard from Jamie,’ Boyega told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere in Florida on Wednesday.

‘I wanted him to show up here, but you know, I know he’s dealing with what he’s dealing with. I just wish him all the best.’

Saying that there has been some ‘missed calls’ from Boyega to Foxx, he added: ‘I’ve been calling, I am just going to keep on calling.’

Foxx suffered a ‘medical complication’ April 11, according to his daughter, Corinne Foxx – and fans have been concerned for his wellbeing ever since.

‘Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she said at the time. ‘We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.’

Foxx, who was born Eric Bishop, was filming the action-comedy Back In Action with Cameron Diaz in Atlanta, Georgia, in April when he was admitted to hospital.

The actor has been treated at a facility in Chicago, which specializes in treatment for adults with ‘severe complex conditions’, including stroke recovery – although it has not been revealed what condition Foxx is suffering from.

In his new Netflix film, Foxx play Slick Charles, who forms part of an unlikely trio with Boyega (Fontaine) and Teyonah Parris (Yo-Yo) who discover a government conspiracy in an underground laboratory.

The trio witness a man being kidnapped off the street and follow the car to an underground lab hidden beneath a convenience store.

They Cloned Tyrone – which will be released on Netflix on July 21 – marks Foxx’s first film release since he suffered a ‘medical complication’ in April – with the star currently in recovery.

Claims on social media that Foxx was left seriously ill after being injured by a vaccine have gone viral – with notable figures including conservative host Candace Owens suggesting Foxx had indeed been damaged by the vaccine.

Denied: This comes after Foxx’s representative denied a bizarre online conspiracy claim that the COVID-19 vaccination caused the actor’s mystery hospitalization (Foxx pictured March 2023)

The furor began when podcaster A.J.Benza made a shock unsubstantiated claim on Dr Drew Pinsky’s online talk show that Foxx had been left ‘partially paralyzed and blind’ after he received a COVID-19 vaccine.

Benza claimed Foxx was ‘forced’ to get a vaccine to work on a film and further alleged the actor developed a blood clot which led to a stroke afterwards –  Foxx’s representatives told NBC News that Benza’s claim is ‘completely inaccurate.’

Pinsky later told the publication in a statement: ‘The statements from A.J. were based on his own confidential sources, so I can’t speculate further than what he said on the show. I sincerely hope that AJ’s sources are wrong and Mr. Foxx will make a full recovery.

‘There is no evidence and I have no reason to believe that his medical condition is directly related to vaccine therapy or a post-COVID phenomenon. Any evidence of either would have to come from his physicians.’

He added that he supports and recommends ‘all safe vaccines’, but added that ‘a concerning number of people have seemingly had their lives significantly affected by side effects, health issues, and the deaths of loved ones — and some signs suggest a connection to mRNA vaccines.’

Grave: Fans were initially alerted about the health scare when his daughter Corinne shared a grave statement on social media on April 12

Owens then insinuated on her podcast that Benza’s statement must be true because Foxx’s family didn’t ‘outright deny it’ – with Owens’ video racking up more than 180,000 views.

She said: ‘Their silence seems as though there is some veracity to this claim. We’re all holding our breath to see whether or not Jamie Foxx speaks out.’

Charlie Kirk, the founder of the conservative organization Talking Points USA, tweeted: ‘Those of us who spoke against the mRNA shot were attacked in every imaginable way. I am infuriated a decent person like Jamie Foxx fell victim to Big Pharma because a movie set is still dumb enough to mandate their cash cow clot shot.’

Kirk’s spokesman told the publication he had shared the article ‘so readers could check it out for themselves.’
