James Martin, 50, sparks concern amongst fans as he shares worrying post from hospital… revealing he’s getting a mystery operation

James Martin worried fans on Monday as he took to Instagram with a worrying post, revealing he was in hospital.

The former Saturday Kitchen chef, 50, updated his 701K followers that both himself and his dog, Ralph, were undergoing an operation.

And taking to the comment section, he assured that Ralph was on the mend, but crypitcally wrote ‘we will see’ when talking about himself.

The post featured a snap of the Lhasa Apso, along with a close up picture of a hospital door with an ‘MRI Suite’ plaque.

Alongside the two shots, James wrote: ‘Seems as if we are both getting old fella! Dropped him off for an op this morning, now it seems I need one.’

Before adding another comment which assured Ralph was getting better, but didn’t give any update on his own condition.

‘Thank you for all your messages, very kind. Ralph is ok and out and on the mend cheers. Me on the other hand well we will see see,’ wrote the chef.

Fans rushed to the comment section with worry for the chef, wishing him well as they offered their words of support.

‘Hope it’s not too serious for either of you,’ wrote one follower. 

While another penned: ‘Sending so much more well wishes. You’ll be ok xx’

It comes after James spoke about his health and diet during an appearance on Loose Women last week, revealing that he lost three stone.

Sharing that he cut out fizzy drinks during the Covid-19 pandemic, the chef told the panel: ‘Don’t drink tea or coffee so fizzy drinks were always sort of my nemesis really and in the kitchen particularly.’ 

‘We found that in Covid I wasn’t concentrating and getting this massive sugar rush, so I just swapped to water.

“The minute I swapped to water, it was nearly three stone,’ he shared.
