Saturday Morning host James Martin is a firm favourite on ITV with his culinary surprises. The 47-year-old has opened up about his childhood where he revealed he had apologised to his grandad after he made a secret purchase for him.
The TV chef spoke candidly about his family life and divulged details of his grandad’s love of gardening.
James recalled the moment he purchased his grandfather a lawnmower with the pocket money he received.
Speaking to GQ Magazine, he explained: “When I first made a bit of pocket money, washing pots in a restaurant when I was 12 years old, my grandad loved his gardening so I bought him a Flymo mower.
“And about 16 years later, when my granny passed away, I was clearing out the shed and the Flymo was in the back of the shed untouched.”
