After reportedly making the comments on the show, Jade and her bandmates broke down in tears as they took to the stage and performed Between Us.
Speaking to Graham about the decision to split Jade said: ‘It’s been terribly emotional.
‘We’ve still got the tour next year and a few other bits, but it’s been 10 incredible years and we always said if we’re going to take a little break it would be on an incredible high, at our peak so it seems like the right time.
‘We are family and love each other to bits so what’s lovely is that whatever we go off and do we can support each other through it and celebrate each other – it’s a lovely way to do it.’

Jesy Nelson left the group last December, with it now coming to light that she scooped her £3million pay cheque before departing to go solo.
And now the girls could be in line for some serious cash too, with Perrie reportedly set to launch a wellness brand.
The Newcastle-born star, 28, has spent over two years secretly working on luxury brand Disora, and has filed a trademark application to cover jewellery, clothing and cosmetics, and her new venture is expected to launch very soon.

A source told The Sun: ‘Music is Perrie’s first love and by no means has she ruled out doing solo songs in the future. But she is keen to do other things too and knows there is a huge market for women in their twenties and thirties who want a little bit of luxury in their lives.’
A representative for Perrie was contacted by MailOnline at the time.
Meanwhile Jade is in talks with a record company about signing a lucrative solo deal after impressing them with her own new tracks, according to another report.
The pop star has reportedly been meeting with Atlantic Records, the label that represents Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora and Charli XCX.
It comes after earlier last week it was claimed Jade has recorded solo music and signed to Harry Styles’ management company.
Star: Leigh-Anne meanwhile could be setting her sights on a movie career after recently starring in the Christmas film Boxing Day
The singer inked a deal with Full Stop Management – also home to the likes of Lizzo, Mark Ronson, and Saweetie – and is tipped to have huge solo success like the former One Direction star, 27.
Under the management, Harry has enjoyed huge global chart success – including Grammy nominations – with his two solo albums, launched an acting career, and, more recently, founded his own beauty brand, Pleasing.
Alongside music, Jade is said to be keen to appear on the small screen more after proving popular as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
