The 34-year-old actress, who was joined by her Little co-star Marsai Martin, was seen in a different outfit while arriving for the interview.
Later in the day, Issa stopped by Buzzfeed and opened up about the death of her friend Nipsey Hussle, who she grew up with in Los Angeles. He was shot and killed on Sunday afternoon near his clothing store.
Issa said how she was so inspired by the way Nipsey gave back to the community and that she planned on doing the same once she had the means.
“In my mind, I was like, ‘Cool, as soon as I get coin, that’s the same thing I’m gonna do,’” she told Buzzfeed. “And for him to invest so much, to be of the community and then to be gunned down in that same area is just heartbreaking.”
“It’s just sad that his life was taken away,” she added. “A sense of hope was taken away, a sense of promise was taken away and that’s just a tragedy.”
