Adele can “set fire to the rain,” but she can also seriously set fire to Nicki Minaj’s verse on “Monster.” On Tuesday night, the singer surprised an LA party with an iconic cover of Nicki’s rap from the hit Kanye West song. It’s not the first time Adele has flaunted her speedy raps and affinity for Nicki, as she rapped the same verse while appearing on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show back in 2016. But this time, she had an entire party to pump up, and boy, were they excited.
Instagram user Patrick Buchanan captured the epic moment from the party, where she also broke out some dance moves to Beyoncé’s “Formation.” After splitting from husband Simon Konecki in April and celebrating her 31st birthday in May, Adele promised fans some new music. Is it too much to ask for a rap album or even a song with Nicki?!
