This came after Harry’s ex-campmate Malique Thompson-Dwyer revealed that he has been ‘forced to eat’ by his fellow campmates as he finds the jungle offerings ‘disgusting’.

The retired football manager is said to have lost around half a stone since arriving in Australia and has been refusing to eat the food won in Bushtucker trials.

Hollyoaks star, Malique – who was evicted from the ITV1 show on Sunday night – revealed he ‘doesn’t think Harry would have made it’ without the campmates encouraging the ‘fussy eater’ to eat.

The actor, who was second to be voted off the show after Noel Edmonds’ shock exit, added that jungle favourite Harry has a real problem with some of the unusual types of meat served up.

He told the Mirror: ‘A lot of the meat, because Harry has lost his sense of smell, all the meat just looks absolutely disgusting to him.

‘There have been days where we have to pretty much force him to eat. He is a fussy eater so we try to make it as nice as possible. Like baby food.’

The star praised campmate Nick Knowles’ efforts to make the food appealing for Harry, adding: ‘Nick is a very good cook. If Nick wasn’t there to cook the food I dont think Harry would have made it.’

‘What the celebs are eating is very healthy, from veg to meat protein and fish and that is absorbed quickly by the body.

‘The weight loss doesn’t do any permanent damage, and most pile it back on within three weeks, especially in the build-up to Christmas.

‘The celebs see it as a detox, although at the time it’s very difficult as they have nothing to distract from the hunger.’

It is also reported that Medic Bob encourages to campmates to drink at least three litres of water of day, further limiting their food consumption.

After leaving the jungle on Sunday night, a hungry Malique – who lost six pounds while in the jungle – demolished a full English breakfast before leaving the site.

Once he had returned to the show’s hotel, the luxurious Palazzo Versace, he grabbed lunch from a nearby McDonalds.
