Paul Ritter made an appearance in the documentary Friday Night Dinner: 10 Years and a Lovely Bit of Squirrel tonight. The later actor paid an emotional tribute to his character on the show, Martin Goodman, saying he’d “be nothing without him”.

Paul died of a brain tumour at the age of 54 earlier this year.

However, the late actor made a posthumous appearance in a documentary to celebrate Friday Night Dinner.

Speaking about his character, he said: “I’d be nothing without him.

“It was the great career gift in terms of interesting parts.

“It’s been absolutely everything to me and I’ve loved playing him.”
