Honey Boo Boo's dad transforms with help from a Hollywood makeover

Mike ‘Sugar Bear’ Thompson of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fame has gone through a radical makeover and now looks like a new person.

The reality TV star, who is Mama June’s ex-fiancé and father of Alana ‘Honey Boo-Boo’ Thompson, looked much younger than his 50 years after all the work was done.

The former contractor began his transformation with a new smile. He also had a new head of hair attached and was given Botox.

It did not appear Mike took good care of his teeth which were worn away and appeared to be rotting.

Cosmetic dentist Dr. Joseph Goodman removed 20 of his teeth surgically to give him a new smile.

The Beverly Hills based dentist created a new set of dentures, which gave the reality TV star a brand new set of pearly whites. 

The difference was instantly noticeable.


Final meal?: The former contractor appeared to enjoy a final treat before beginning his transformation.  Cosmetic dentist Dr. Joseph Goodman helped begin the changes

Unhealthy teeth: According to the American College of Prosthodontists , some 36 million Americans do not have any teeth, and 120 million people in the U.S. are missing at least one tooth.


Extractions:  Dr. Goodman needed to surgically extract 20 of Mike’s teeth. Tooth loss can lead to many health problems including obesity,  coronary artery disease, and some forms of cancer, including oral cancer

The next step in the makeover was a big one as well.

The Toddlers and Tiaras cast member received a hair transplant from Jacques Abrahamian of L.A. FUE Hair Clinic of Pasadena.

Sugar Bear wore comfortable navy blue pajamas for the operation.  

The specialist used a procedure called follicular unit extraction in which follicles of hair from the back of his head were used to cover the balding areas.

Wrinkles: Plastic surgeon Dr David Saadat, who prescribed 75 units of Botox on his forehead and between the eyebrows and to the crow’s feet around his eyes.

The final step in the metamorphosis was relatively painless. 


Youthful restoration: The entire metamorphosis totaled $68 thousand. Mike fought back tears when he saw himself, saying ‘I haven’t stopped looking in the mirror. I don’t recognize the man in the mirror.’

 Mike’s graying hair and beard were touched up with some natural looking dye completing the youthful restoration.  The entire transformation costs $68 thousand.

When he saw the final results, the reality star fought back tears as he exclaimed, ‘I never thought I could have a smile I would be proud of and I really love the Botox because I look a lot younger.’

‘I haven’t stopped looking in the mirror. I don’t recognize the man in the mirror.’
