‘My dog ATE my hoover!’ Holly Willoughby’s attempts to clean her Dyson go disastrously wrong as her puppy Bailey chews up the appliance

Holly Willoughby suffered a nightmare on Saturday as her pet dog Bailey ‘ate’ her vacuum cleaner.

The This Morning presenter, 41, had embarked on a spot of spring cleaning and had taken to Instagram to share a snap of her dismantled Dyson as she set out to give all the parts a good clean.

However, things went disastrously wrong after her puppy got hold of the parts and proceeded to chew them up, damaging the appliance in the process.

Oh dear! Holly Willoughby suffered a nightmare on Saturday as her pet dog Bailey ‘ate’ her vacuum cleaner

Sharing a snap of her guilty-looking pooch sitting in front of broken hoover parts, Holly penned: ‘Dyson update… my dog ate my hoover.’

Taking to the comments, several fans sympathised with Holly, while many others rushed to Bailey’s defence.

One penned: ‘But you can’t be mad with that gorgeous face.’

While another shared: ‘No one likes hoovering. He’s done you a favour.’

With a third adding: ‘Look at her gorgeous face.. You can’t be mad at her.’

Holly and her family welcomed adorable golden retriever into their home last year.

And while Bailey has settled right into family life with the Willoughbys, Holly previously recalled a ‘horror movie’ like moment with her new pup.

During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Holly explained that the first morning with her golden retriever was a far cry from perfect when she was greeted by an abhorrent smell as she went to check on her in the crate.

The new dog owner said: ‘Before I saw her, I could smell her. I lifted the flap and I swear to God it was like something out of a horror movie.’

‘She was covered in her own s**t. She’d gone from white and perfect to just stinky and smelly. I looked and thought “if I let you out you’re going to run through and cover the whole house in this.”‘

It might not have been the greeting the This Morning presenter was expecting but she did gush about the newest addition to the family.

‘She is pretty perfect actually, apart from that first night. I think she did it on purpose. I think she’s quite a clever girl.’

Bailey joined the Willoughby/Baldwin family in November and Holly enthused that her household was ‘completely in love’ with their furry friend.

She wrote on her Wylde Moon website: ‘Bailey has come in and pushed a giant paw-shaped, reset button for all us…and of course we are completely in love.’

Holly recalled of her family’s journey to get the pup: ‘My daughter has been campaigning for us to get a dog since she was able to talk, and we have been waiting for the right time for a dog to fit into our family life.

Puppy love: The pup didn’t seem as excited as Holly as she lay snoozing on the sofa, with Holly asking Bailey: ‘are you gonna say hello?’

‘Now, is that time. This little ball of scrumptious energy bounded into our world and immediately made us question why on earth we have waited so long.

‘She’s been brilliant for getting us all out of the house, going on long walks and playing in the garden.

‘During lockdown, the kids gravitated to being on screens more than normal, but Bailey has come in and pushed a giant paw-shaped, reset button for all us…and of course we are completely in love.’
