Hunter King is dishing about her upcoming Hallmark movie Hidden Gems!
The 28-year-old Life in Pieces actress stars in the new movie alongside Good Trouble‘s Beau Mirchoff.
Here’s a synopsis: While prepping for her sister’s wedding, Addie (King) loses her grandmother’s ring in the waters of Hawaii. She hires dive instructor Jack (Mirchoff) to search for her lost treasure. They immediately clash with each other when Addie insists she go on the pursuit with Jack. Once they come to an agreement, Jack ends up serving as Addie’s tour guide of the island’s hidden gems.
In a new interview on the Hallmark Happenings Podcast, Hunter dished on what it was like first reading the script, filming the movie in Hawaii, joining the Hallmark family and more.
“It was everything you could hope a Hallmark movie would be and more,” she gushed.

“They did a really good job, and reading it, even the whole time before I even got to Hawaii, just reading the script I was like, ‘Oh my god, and then what happens? Wait, what happened then? Is that the ring? Oh it’s not the ring,’” Hunter said. “The whole time it was just, I was on the edge of my seat reading it, so I’m excited for the viewers.”
Hunter also dished about how it feels starring in her first Hallmark movie and joining the Hallmark family.
“I feel so lucky to be a part of Hallmark. I feel like it’s such a staple in I guess I would assume everyone’s household, definitely my household growing up. I would be flicking through channels and I’d watch hallmark movies when I was younger, so it’s very surreal to be on a Hallmark movie,” she shared.
“It doesn’t feel real to be promoting this. I didn’t ever think that this would happen. I didn’t think I’d be lucky enough to be in a Hallmark movie because it just feels like a dream life,” Hunter continued. “Hallmark movies, up there like white picket fence. I don’t know why that’s like the all American dream in my mind as an actor, so I feel so lucky to be able to be a part of the Hallmark family. I’m so excited.”
