Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt split up all the way back in September 2016, but much like Pitt's relationship with his first ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, the world continues to be fascinated by the pair.
There has certainly been a lot of gossip over the past four years about why, exactly, the two decided to go their separate ways, but according to a People source, they're in a much better place now—especially when it comes to co-parenting their six children: Maddox (18), Pax (16), Zahara (15), Shiloh (14), Vivienne (12), and Knox (12).
"They definitely needed help figuring out all the child-custody issues and how Brad could be a dad again," the source said. "Since the kids are older now, they are no longer dealing with separation issues from Angie."
But the process hasn't always been easy—something many parents and families can likely relate to when it comes to divorce. "It’s taken them a long time, with a lot of family therapy, to get to this point,” the source who spoke to People said. "The younger kids go back and forth between their houses, and Brad loves spending as much time with them as possible. He seems much happier."
Earlier this summer, Jolie opened up to Vogue India about why she decided to leave Pitt. “I separated for the well-being of my family," she told the magazine. “It was the right decision.”
"I continue to focus on their healing," Jolie continued. "Some have taken advantage of my silence, and the children see lies about themselves in the media, but I remind them that they know their own truth and their own minds. In fact, they are six very brave, very strong young people.”
Whatever's been going on with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's family, we're very glad to hear that everyone seems to be in a happier, healthier place.
