Over the last week, James Charles‘ name has probably been all over your computer and phone screens – and if you don’t know why, JJJ is here to explain it all to you.
After attending the Met Gala last week, the 19-year-old beauty YouTuber called himself a “catalyst” for for influencer representation in the media.
Almost immediately after that, his longtime friend and fellow YouTuber Tati Westbrook called him out for his behavior.
“There’s so much going on with James Charles right now that I do not support, that I do not agree with,” Tati shared in a vlog. “Fame, power and a fat bank account will change almost anyone. If you don’t have people that will tell you to your face that you are doing the wrong things, you will change.”
In the video, Tati details at length the reasons behind the falling out between the two hugely popular YouTubers.
“I don’t think there’s any getting through to you and I don’t want to be friends with you. I don’t want to be associated with you, and I need to say that very publicly so that chapter can be closed.”
Following the release of Tati‘s video, James responded with an apology video titled “tati” on his channel. The video currently has over 1.7 million dislikes and 22 million views.
Since both of their videos, James has lost over two million subscribers on his YouTube including the likes of Miley Cyrus, Kylie Jenner, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, the Dolan Twins and more.
