Heather Locklear, 61, steps out in Calabasas after sobriety setback that sparked concern from friends and family

Heather Locklear stepped out looking glamorous in Calabasas on Thursday –  two months after DailyMail.com revealed she had been acting erratically and was drinking alcohol again.

The actress, 61, who stepped out looking fresh-faced earlier this month, wore a black cold-shoulder top with a leopard print lip detail and prints on the sleeves, paired with black flared trousers.

The star accessorized with a white Louis Vuitton handbag and ballet pumps.

Her tresses were styled in soft waves and she sported smoky eyeshadow and peach blush.

The Melrose Place star has a troubled past with alcohol – culminating in her drunkenly crashing her Porsche before being convicted of nine misdemeanors and being sent to court-ordered rehab in August 2019.

She had made strenuous efforts to kick her tequila habit but last month DailyMail.com revealed the mom-of-one is drinking again with a source confiding that the situation has left her family ‘very worried’.

In June, exclusive DailyMail.com photos showed a very different side of Locklear with the actress looking disheveled and distressed as she picked her way along a ledge on an office building in Malibu before sitting and talking to herself for over an hour.

She was eventually picked up by a man understood to be her fiancé Chris Heisser, also 61 – himself no stranger to alcohol trouble.

A week later, family sources confirmed to DailyMail.com that Locklear is back on the sauce, with an insider saying: ‘Heather is drinking.’

The family is very worried. Everyone feels helpless. Richie [Sambora], her family, especially her daughter Ava who loves her so much.’

The source also told DailyMail.com Locklear has been taking Danish miracle weight loss drug Ozempic.

‘Tequila has always been her drink,’ the insider said. ‘She can’t stay away from it. She’s also on Ozempic and obsesses over her weight. She’s lost 40lbs.’ The source also said Locklear’s behavior had been hard on both daughter Ava, 25, and fiancé Heisser – and is particularly ‘unfair’ on the former motocross driver, because ‘he is battling alcohol too.’

‘Chris has to drive her for mandatory errands and try to sustain his career while lying to family and friends consistently hiding her alcohol and drug problems,’ the insider told DailyMail.com.

Locklear is seen in a police booking photo after her arrest on two counts of misdemeanor battery on a police officer and EMT in June 2018

‘[The couple] told friends she has been drinking again months ago and would return to rehab to no avail.’

Once one of Hollywood’s most popular actresses, Locklear began her tumble out of LA’s constellation of stars when she split from her Bon Jovi guitarist second husband Richie Sambora in 2006. She had previously been married t wild-man drummer Tommy Lee.

Her downward spiral accelerated over the next decade and included two failed engagements: one with actor Jack Wagner in 2011 and another with account manager Larry Porush in 2013.

In February 2018, she was arrested at her home in Thousand Oaks, California, and hit with a domestic violence charge and another of battery on a police officer.

The following June, she was arrested again and charged with assaulting an EMT who had responded to a callout at her home after a fight with Heisser that saw her bite him on the nose.

Locklear’s year from hell concluded with her being placed on a 5150 hold that November – where patients can be hospitalized for 72 hours if it is determined they are a danger to themselves or others – after her therapist determined that she was experiencing a mental breakdown.

The following August, she pleaded no contest to eight misdemeanor counts: five counts of battery on a peace officer, one count of battery on an emergency medical personnel, and two counts of resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace officer.

She was ordered to complete a 30-day residential rehab stay in a mental health facility with a 120-day jail sentence suspended.

The family source told DailyMail.com that the lack of punishment was a mistake and enabled her to return to the booze.

‘Heather got off so easy with no probation or accountability after beating up cops and then threatening EMT ambulance drivers,’ the source explained.

‘The no accountability has allowed her to continue to hide out on top of her mountain estate and drink her tequila body into a much larger unhappier figure.’
