Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are having a baby—eventually! Maybe. OK, but Jonas did reveal that having kids is his “goal” last night. So there.
“[Having a family of my own] is the goal,” the 25-year-old heartthrob told me at the August 8 launch of his new fragrance collaboration JVxNJ with designer John Varvatos. “It’s definitely something that I hope will happen.”
And he’s getting lots of practice with his brother Kevin Jonas’ two daughters, Valentina and Alena. See: this adorable ‘gram of Valentina, posted on July 4. The caption: “As you can see this little angel makes me very happy.” (That same day, he was spotted out with his alleged bride-to-be and just weeks before took her to a family wedding in New Jersey. JUST. SAYING.)

“The best part about being an uncle is that it’s like training wheels,” said Jonas. “You get to spend time with these young people and have some responsibility, which is nice.” Even Jonas’ pals think he’ll make a great father. “He is great with kids,” John Varvatos said, chiming in. “He’s like a magnet to them. They latch right on. It’s amazing. He’s great.”
As to when he’ll have kids of his own, it’s still TBD. “I am not sure of the exact timeline,” he said. “But, I need to give my nieces cousins at some point.” Yes, please.
In the meantime, Jonas is keeping busy with the debut of this highly-anticipated fragrance with Varvatos. “It’s a really important moment in our friendship and our creative life together,” Jonas said of his collaboration with the designer. “The process was inspiring on so many levels, and I learned a lot. But, I’m now ‘The Best Smelling Man in Show Business.’ That’s self-proclaimed of course.”
So, what’s his favorite scent on a woman? “It’s different strokes for different folks,” he said. “It’s important for someone to find a scent that makes her feel comfortable, confident and beautiful. It’s not really my place to say what I like on someone.”
But, there is one woman in Jonas’ life that he buys perfume for—his mother. “My mother has this one scent that she loves from London,” he added. “I have to go to the store when I’m there and ship it back to her. I win major brownie points every time I do it.”
Go ahead, swoon.
