Chrisley Knows Best patriarch Todd Chrisley is scrambling to save his kids show after ratings for Growing Up Chrisley plummeted for a third week in a row, RadarOnline.com learned exclusively!
“Todd is trying to pull some strings but there really is nothing that can be done to save it at this point, so they are hoping for a miracle,” a production insider told Radar about Savannah and brother Chase‘s spinoff.
“Chase is blaming the crappy ratings on his fake sister and Savannah is blaming it on Chase. She is telling everyone that her brother is just not interesting and isn’t funny.”
According to ratings website TV By The Numbers, Growing Up Chrisley brought in only 806,000 viewers on Tuesday, April 16 — barely making the top 25 and falling behind Home Network’s Restored By The Fords and Food Network’s Chopped!
Not even Savannah’s recent engagement to NFL star boyfriend, Nic Kerdiles, could reel in viewers when it aired last Tuesday, April 24!
So why is the spinoff not drawing millions of viewers like Chrisley Knows Best, which is currently in it’s 7th season?
The insider told Radar that, without their witty father Todd, 50, Savannah, 21, and Chase, both 22, “aren’t at all funny!”
“Savannah refused to use Todd’s team of comedic writers because she wanted to prove to her dad that she can be successful without him,” the insider said, adding, “And now that it’s on the chopping block, she is freaking the f**k out.”
