Greg O’Shea poses with Maura Higgins as her beau Curtis leaves alone

Love Island’s Greg O’Shea looks cheery as he hits the town with Maura Higgins after Amber Gill split… as her beau Curtis Pritchard leaves TV studios alone

They made a joint appearance on RTE’s The Late Late Show on Friday night, after the bombshell announcement that he had broken up with Amber Gill.

And Greg O’Shea put on a cheery display as he hit the town with Love Island star Maura Higgins in Dublin, while her beau Curtis Pritchard left The Late, Late Show in the city alone.

The rugby player, 24, discussed his relationship with Amber on the show, who he was meant to appear on the show with, and he was given moral support from the grid girl, 28.

Moral support: Love Island’s Greg O’Shea put on a cheery display following his split from Amber Gill while posing with Maura Higgins on a night out in Dublin on Friday

Greg looked dapper in a grey checked three-piece suit, which he paired with an open-collared dark blue shirt and dark brown shoes.

Meanwhile Maura put on a sensational display in a bright yellow co-ord suit which she wore without a shirt to show off a glimpse of her cleavage.

She boosted her height in chic black heels, and kept her accessories simple so that all eyes remained firmly on her ensemble.

Maura’s beau Curtis was seen leaving The Late, Late Show studios where Greg had appeared, but the professional dancer left the venue alone as he opted to leave in a taxi while Maura and Greg hit the town.

Awkward: Maura’s beau Curtis Pritchard left The Late, Late Show alone and did not join the pair on their night out

On the show Greg broke his silence on his split from Amber Gill, denying he dumped her over a text message and said the distance between them, as well as their busy careers, caused the separation.

Amber was set to appear on the chat show with Greg but pulled out after reports of their split emerged.

Greg insisted he bares no ill will toward Amber and said the reason for them going their separate ways was down to distance.

He said: ‘So we’re mad about each other, what’s not to be mad about? She’s gorgeous, smart funny, she’s the Queen of Love Island for a reason but you need to be realistic about the situation.’

Stylish: Aisling Bea also made an appearance on the talk show, and she looked pretty in a pink graphic-print dress with 70s-inspired boots

Greg added that both he and Amber have their hands full with work and as such don’t have time for a committed relationship.

He said: ‘She lives in the UK, every brand wants to work with her, every event wants her there, of course she deserves all of it and I decided to come back to Ireland and do my thing here.

‘I’m trying to get to the Olympics with the sevens team, I’ve got my law exams coming up so we’re both so jam-packed busy and you need to take these opportunities by the scruff of the neck.

‘So we’re kind of just being realistic about the situation and protecting our careers and that’s where we are at the moment.’

Cancelled: Amber was set to appear on the chat show with Greg but pulled out after reports of their split emerged

Amber remained in London after dropping out of her appearance on The Late Late Show and spent time with her friend and fellow Love Islander Anna Vakili.

She and Greg were crowned the winners of the ITV2 series just 39 days ago – after dating for two weeks in the villa – but have now gone their separate ways.

Amber was said to be ‘devastated’ following their split which she reportedly did not see coming.

An insider revealed: ‘Amber feels used by Greg. He was always aware of the distance and his career in their relationship, and yet he chose to seek out Amber in the villa knowing there would always be the distance.

‘Amber is devastated, she thought he was a lovely guy, but he’s made his feelings clear over text, which isn’t very sensitive.

‘She had a feeling he was going to make decision to end things but only because she’d been hearing things – he hadn’t the decency to tell her himself.’

MailOnline contacted Amber and Greg’s representatives for comment at the time.

Amber and Greg split the £50,000 prize money between them following their win, giving them £25,000 each.

The couple – who got together just two weeks prior – beat Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, who had been seeing one another for 54 days.
