Gorka Marquez recreates Will Mellor’s Strictly dance with daughter Mia in sweet video

Strictly Come Dancing’s Gorka Marquez recreated Will Mellor’s routine from musical week with his daughter Mia in a sweet video that was posted by his wife, Gemma Atkinson, on social media.

Gorka, who made his Strictly debut back in 2016 alongside EastEnders’ Tameka Empson, was filmed by Gemma as he danced around their living room on his knees.

Clad in a bright yellow t-shirt, the 32 year old dancer adorably span daughter Mia, three, around with a big smile on her face.

The duo's moves were inspired by a certain Strictly routine – but not one Gorka did on the show.

Instead, it seems Mia is a huge fan of Will Mellor, who has starred in Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and EastEnders.

Will performed the foxtrot to Sun And Moon from Miss Saigon in Musicals Week alongside partner Nancy Xu, with the couple coming top of the leaderboard with a score of 39.

Gorka and partner Helen Skelton, 39, performed Couple's Choice to Mein Herr from Cabaret and were also awarded a score of 39.

Taking to Instagram, Gemma, 38, captioned the cute video: "Still on Wills dance but at least she lets Papa dance it with her.”

The Spanish pro can be seen twirling his daughter around and picking her up for more spins before setting her back down so she can show off her own moves.

Gemma and Helen have previously shrugged off the so-called Strictly curse, which is usually evoked to describe contestants cheating on their partners with their new dancing buddies.

"A lot of Gemma's mates were wondering if she would be worried about the Strictly curse but she laughs it off and just wants to embrace Helen into the family and support her," a source told Heat Magazine.

"Gemma doesn't want the endless speculation about the curse, she absolutely trusts Gorka and thinks that Helen is a sweetheart,” they added.

"She's being extremely positive and encouraging of the pairing and wants them to go all the way."

Helen has been experiencing a particularly hard time as of late after separating from her husband of eight years, Richie Myler, who later dubbed his new girlfriend “family” in the same week she strutted onto Strictly.

The Countryfile presenter has been supported by Gorka, who previously said: “I think she’s great but she needs to believe. I know her confidence at the moment isn’t great but she needs to believe in herself and believe she can do it.

“I think she has a lot of potential and she’s a beautiful dancer. I believe in her as well.”

Similarly, a source told us that Gorka believes Helen can win the entire competition, as do some of the other contestants.

They explained: “Helen’s confidence has been knocked to shreds but Gorka knows she has the ability to win. She needs to learn to believe in herself and Gorka is helping her to feel that.

“A lot of the other stars think she’s going to win this, too.”
