Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Gemma Atkinson, 36, took to Instagram and penned a sweet message to her partner Gorka Marquez. The former Hollyoaks actress honoured her beau as he celebrated his 31st birthday.

Gemma took to the picture-sharing and penned a heartfelt plea as the couple have been forced to celebrate the occasion apart.

Gorka is currently in rehearsals for the upcoming series of Strictly.

The mum-of-one, who resides in Manchester, marked the occasion in a series of photos.

One snap showed Gorka cradling the couple’s daughter Mia, with a second photo of Gemma and her other half beaming at the camera.

A short video clip also captured the happy couple working out together.

In view of her 1.7 million followers, Gemma admitted she “can’t wait” for Gorka to return home in an emotional plea.

She penned: “Happy Birthday to my número uno! Can’t wait to celebrate your special day when you’re home.

“We love you @gorka_marquez PS. Just realised you have the same B’day as Beyoncé. That’s kinda cool.”(sic)

Gorka was quick to reply to the heartwarming birthday message, saying: “Love you both!

“Can’t wait to be with you both,” accompanied by heart-emojis.

Gorka shares his special day with the top-selling US singer Beyonce.

Fans also offered celebratory messages to the Strictly star, as one wrote: “One of the best looking couples ever!”

“Happy Birthday Gorka,” another gushed, while a third added: “What a team.”

Gemma’s message comes after Gorka had left their family home as he begins training for Strictly.

The professional dancers are currently following Covid guidelines ahead of the launch show.

The Strictly dancers will live apart from their loved ones as they follow Covid guidelines.

This series will reportedly run for around 13 weeks.

The popular BBC One show will return to television screens on September 18.

The BBC shared the news on Friday by tweeting a video of McFly star Tom Fletcher, who will be competing on the dance floor this year, holding up a paddle with the number 15 on it.

Other famous faces include Loose Women panellist Jodi Love and Olympic champion Adam Peaty.
