Gareth Gates and Faye Brooks ‘SPLIT’ after seven years together as they call off the wedding after realising it ‘wasn’t meant to be’
Gareth Gates and Faye Brookes have reportedly split.
The couple dated on and off for seven years and got engaged in January, but are now said to have called off the wedding and gone their separate ways.
A source close to the singer, 35, and Corrie actress, 31, claimed that although the pair want to remain friends, they couldn’t make their relationship work.

An insider told Manchester Evening News: ‘Faye and Gareth are both extremely sad about their relationship ending.
‘They still care very much about each other and want to remain friends, but the wedding has been called off.
‘They tried to make it work but sadly it’s not meant to be.’
Although Faye recently quit her role as Kate Connor in Coronation Street, she is said to have thrown herself into work in a bid to help with her heartbreak.
MailOnline has contacted Gareth and Faye’s representatives for comment.

It is not known exactly when the couple ended their relationship, but they were last pictured together on a dinner date in July.
Meanwhile, Faye was snapped trying on wedding dresses just last week, but as part of the FriendsFest event.
Faye was joined by pals who all donned bridal gowns as they recreated scenes from the hit show Friends.

Gareth and Faye – who split up briefly last year, got engaged in January and excitedly revealed their big news in a chat with OK! magazine.
The Pop Idol star popped the question to his soap star girlfriend whilst they were staying at a friend’s high-rise apartment in New York, offering up a 4-carat diamond ring after performing a 17-minute song that he played on the grand piano.
The couple’s engagement came as a shock to fans as they had split for a month last year, reconciling in October.
Discussing the reason behind their break-up, Gareth admitted: ‘There was a lot of strain on our relationship because I was always away with work and Faye’s schedule was getting even busier so we decided we needed some breathing space.’

The couple previously revealed that they will be going all out for their special day, with Faye telling OK! magazine: ‘The wedding is going to be the biggest day of our lives so I’m going to go big with my dress and every other detail of the day.
‘I’ll only get married once and I want it to be huge.’
Gareth has a daughter, Missy, with ex-wife Suzanne Mole, who he married in 2008. The pair split four years before he and Faye fell for one another.
