Lady Gaga breaks down in tears addressing fans before her star-studded One World concert: ‘This is really a true love letter to all of you’

Lady Gaga broke down in tears while addressing her fans before her star-studded One World: Together At Home concert.

The 34-year-old went live on Instagram while lying in bed before tuning into the broadcast, which she has curated. 

‘I just want you to know that this is really a true love letter to all of you all over the world, and I hope a reminder of the kindness that’s occurring right now,’ she said.

Global Citizen has put on the eight-hour livestream concert as a fundraiser for the World Health Organization and frontline medical workers.

‘I know that together at home is just starting now, the digital stream, the pre-show and I love you all so much. I love the world so much,’ Gaga said emotionally. 

‘What Global Citizen has done with all of us and the World Health Organization is so beautiful,’ said the singer born Stefani Germanotta.

‘And I’m so grateful to all the healthcare workers and the medical workers and all the grocery store workers and delivery people, and the postal workers, and the other nonprofits that are working so hard.’

She waved at the camera: ‘Hi, France! Hi, people from all over the world! I can see you! I just want you to know that this is really a true love letter to all of you all over the world, and I hope a reminder of the kindness that’s occurring right now.’ 

The A Star Is Born lead gushed: ‘You’re all so special, the world is a special place and we’re all together at home, and we’re one world.’

She revealed: ‘I’ll be watching all day, and tonight I’m gonna watch the 5pm livestream of the show live on my Instagram, and I’m gonna watch it at that time, ‘cause my family’s in New York and I wanna watch it with them.’

Gaga continued: ‘So I love you and I hope that you feel a big hug from the whole world today, because what’s really beautiful about this show is that you’re all hugging each other and it’s something that everyone always wanted it to be.

The Born This Way hitmaker confided that ‘I don’t know how to say this any other way, but since I was a little girl I always wanted to make people happy and I didn’t know why. But I think I know today. I love you very much.’

Artists ranging from Annie Lennox and John Legend to Jennifer Hudson and Billy Ray Cyrus will be lending their talents to the effort.

The whole extravaganza will stream online at platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Amazon Prime, and part of it will air on TV.
