Friends creators confirm there will be no reunion of the beloved sitcom: ‘It’s not going to beat what we did’

Friends will not be returning for a reprisal as widely rumored.

The show’s creators have confirmed that the show will not see a reunion or reboot in the future.

‘We will not be doing a reunion show, we will not be doing a reboot. The show was about that time in life when friends are your family,’ co-creator and executive producer Marta Kauffman said during the Tribeca TV Festival, according to Deadline.

Continuing on her thoughts against the reboot, Kauffman said: ‘It’s not going to beat what we did.’ 

Co-creator and executive producer David Crane said: ‘We did the show we wanted to do. We got it right, and we put a bow on it.’

Though the reunion may not be happening, Friends fans will get to re-watch their favorite episodes on the big screen in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary.

Good news! Though the reunion may not be happening, Friends fans will get to re-watch their favorite episodes on the big screen in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary

The show is coming to movie theaters nationwide for a screening of 12 popular episodes throughout September and October. 

Screenings will take place on September 23, September 28 and October 2. 

Four different and newly remastered episodes will be shown every night. 

The show first debuted on September 22, 1994. 

It starred Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc.

Friends aired its last episode on May 6, 2004.
