Another child actor going to jail??
Jason James Richter, who stole hearts and an orca in the ’90s classic Free Willy, is now in real legal trouble.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the former child star was arrested on Monday night after his girlfriend filed a police report accusing him of domestic violence.
According to the report, the couple fought earlier in the evening, with Richter accusing his girlfriend of cheating with a coworker. He then returned home, causing her to lock herself in the bedroom — until, she says, he knocked down the door and dragged her out.
Richter has been charged with one count of vandalism for the door and one count of “battery on a significant other with no physical injury.”
Richter spent two nights in jail before finally being freed Wednesday. If convicted he could get up to a year!
His reps deny the fight ever became physical.
