An insider told MailOnline producers are hoping the new arrivals will lift the mood and spark drama after Ollie’s sudden exit left the villa in shock.

Drama is coming: Love Island will see two new boys enter the villa tonight and have their pick of the girls ahead of a recoupling before the end of the week

A source said: ‘Two new boys will enter the villa tonight and have the chance to take a girl of their choice on a date.

‘So far the Islanders have been met with the arrival of twins Eve and Jess, but it will be the girls that are treated to some fresh talent in scenes that will be filmed later today.

‘It is likely that Love Island bosses will tease the entrance of the boys at the end of Wednesday’s show and viewers will meet the newbies properly on Thursday.’

In tonight’s episode, viewers will see the moment Ollie told the Islanders that he was leaving the competition after just three days.

Ollie confesses to still being in love with his ex-girlfriend Laura Nofer, telling the cast: ‘I have to be honest with myself and everyone that I do still love someone else… I have to follow my heart in this scenario.’

But fans of the show are struggling to believe Ollie’s reasons for quitting are genuine after the Islander was hit with a 35,000 strong petition to boot him out the series.

Thousands called for Ollie to be axed after it was revealed he worked as a big game hunter and had posed with an array of dead animals he killed in Africa.

An insider told MailOnline that the welfare team stepped in to support Ollie and gave him the choice to leave – prompting his inevitable departure from the villa.

Former Islander Olivia Attwood and Apprentice star Luisa Zissman agree that Ollie’s exit from the show was urged by producers.

Olivia tweeted back to a fan who believed the cover story: ‘You probably believe in Father Christmas too’ while Luisa said: ‘ITV did the right thing and pushed him.’

In last night’s show Ollie fell out with Paige Turley, 22, after he went behind her back to pursue Siannise Fudge, sparking one of the first rows of the series.

But Paige is left single following Ollie’s exit, leaving her open to date one of the new arrivals.

Mike Boateng, 24, also had a change of heart on Tuesday’s show after opening up to Leanne Amaning, 22, about his true feelings for her.

The former policeman was stolen by Jess, 20, and seemed interested in her advances, until some distance from Leanne made him realise how he feels.

Speaking to Leanne, he said: ‘I woke up, it was nice waking up next to Jess, but as soon as I saw you it was an instant feeling.

‘If that’s what I’m feeling I’ve gotta follow it. I don’t think me and her are gonna go anywhere.’
