Former Emmerdale star Kelli Hollis has been falsely accused of ‘kerb crawling’ by police – but claims it’s a case of mistaken identity.
The actress, 46, has been sent a letter by police warning that she faces a fine or arrest should she reoffend, after her car was caught roaming the streets of Newham, Greater London, soliciting prostitutes for sexual activity.
However, speaking in a video uploaded to TikTok, Kelli revealed she sold the car to a friend after moving to Thailand, but its new owner failed to change log details, so she’s still the vehicle’s official registered keeper.

The Leeds-born mother-of-two, who also starred in Channel 4 show Shameless, also revealed her friend has racked up a number of speeding fines, also in her name.
Kelli explains: ‘Just before I left for Thailand I let my friend use my car because they wanted to go somewhere, they had no brakes or M.O.T, so it was pretty dangerous for them to drive their car.
‘Begrudgingly I lent them my car and when I decided to go to Thailand for definite, I just said ‘why don’t you buy the car off me?’

‘So when I was in Thailand they transferred me the money and reassured me, as I had no access to the log book.
‘I explained what they had to do, take £25 off the car money and apply for a log book – easy peasy.
‘But they didn’t do that, and for the past couple of months I’ve been getting ticket after ticket, about five in all so far, but this is the icing on the cake.’
Kelli then showed her followers a letter sent from the MET Police, confirming her white Suzuki motor vehicle had been spotted kerb crawling and warning of her potential consequences.

She continued: ‘So apparently on June 30 2022, in the London Borough of Newham, my car’s been seen kerb crawling and I’ve had a letter warning me about it – what the actual f***?’
Kelli played Abi Spencer in Emmerdale between 2011-2015 and had hoped to return until her character was killed off, away from screen, in 2018.
She previously featured in Shameless, where she made her name, starring as Yvonne Karib for six series.

Last year, it was revealed Kelli was working in a cafe, but her agent confirmed it was purely so she could help out a friend and she had ‘lots of wonderful acting gigs about to commence;.
Shortly after leaving Emmerdale she launched her own production company called Book To Screen, focusing on adapting novels for television and film.
Kelli also had roles in Sky drama Wolfe, plus BBC1 soap Doctors and Channel 4 comedy Ackley Bridge.
She moved to Thailand permanently with partner Martin Dawson in recent months, having made numerous visits to the country on holidays.
