Elton John rushed to hospital after suffering a fall at French villa

Elton John was taken to hospital on Sunday night after suffering a fall at his home in Nice, France. The 76-year-old has been spending the summer at his villa with his husband David Furnish and their children, Zachary, 12, and Elijah, 10.

A spokesperson for Elton announced today: “We can confirm that following a slip yesterday at his home in the south of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure.

“Following check ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health,” as reported by MailOnline.

Elton’s fall comes after he concerned fans during his headline set at Glastonbury in June.

The Rocketman singer appeared to be struggling to walk as he limped to the Pyramid Stage ahead of his performance.

Last year, Elton also sparked concern when he was seen arriving at a German airport in a wheelchair.

At the time, he shut down concerns telling fans he was in “top health” and that the wheelchair was only used because it was an “extremely long walk” to the plane.

In 2021, the iconic musician underwent a hip operation after another fall left him in “considerable pain”.

His struggle was so bad that he had to postpone the European leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour until this year.

He wrote on Instagram in the September: “I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and have been in considerable pain and discomfort in my hip ever since.

“Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain has continued to get worse and is leading to increasing difficulties moving.

“I have been advised to have an operation as soon as possible to get me back to full fitness and make sure there are no long-term complications.”

Elton’s husband David later confirmed that the hip replacement had been a “massive success”.
