Ellen DeGeneres recently sparked backlash for a joke she made about quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic.

But it appears the 32-time Emmy winner and wife Portia de Rossi are continuing to use their means to help fight the global crisis.

She and de Rossi were spotted Saturday unloading boxes at a fire department in Santa Barbara after revealing de Rossi’s art company would be making face shields for medical workers.

The 62-year-old kept warm in a beige zipped-up jacket, complemented with slim grey pants.

She finished the look with black leather booties, protective disposable gloves and a black face mask.

De Rossi, 47, cut a chic look in a collarless knee-length burnt orange duster with a black top and skinny blue cargo pants.

She completed the ensemble with a black leather belt, matching boots and some disposable gloves and face mask of her own.

They unloaded a large Home Depot box at the fire department, shortly after packing it into their car with some large canvases.

The outing came after they announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that de Rossi’s company General Public is producing face shields.

The Arrested Development star said: ‘We are now making face shields for hospital workers that will be distributed around Southern Californian hospitals. 

‘We’re slated to make about 2,100 tomorrow, but we can make in the tens of thousands.’

DeGeneres recently returned to her talk show with a remote production, after going off the air last month due to COVID-19 concerns.

Earlier this week, she sparked backlash with a joke she made on her show, comparing quarantine in her mansion to prison.
