EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Lord Black labels the Queen a ‘disgrace’ for ‘abandoning’ disgraced Prince Andrew as he battles Virginia Roberts sexual assault case
Under-fire Prince Andrew can’t be too fussy about his friends at the moment, so he’ll be delighted to learn he has the support of a prominent figure, even if he is a former jailbird.
Disgraced Conrad Black criticises the Queen’s ‘abandonment’ of Andrew, as he fights sexual assault charges as a private citizen.
The former Daily Telegraph owner says it’s ‘a disgrace’ for the monarch ‘to have withdrawn from him all of the dignities exercised ex officio for centuries by the second son of the reigning monarch’.

Attacking the U.S. justice system which sent him to prison for fraud, Lord Black adds: ‘No one could be a more inviting target for such scurrilous abuse of the legal system than a prominent member of the British Royal Family.’
Perhaps he could be a character witness in Andrew’s trial . . . or perhaps not.
The Queen’s gay cousin gives candid interview to daughter for TV documentary
After Lord Ivar Mountbatten divorced his wife and embarked on a love affair with an airline cabin services director, he became the first member of the extended Royal Family to marry someone of the same sex.
Now, his daughter is planning to lay bare how it feels when one of your parents comes out as gay.
Alix Mountbatten, 23, has revealed that she’s making a TV documentary and wants others who’ve been in similar situations to share their experiences on her programme.
‘I’m not just doing it for myself,’ says Alix, a goddaughter of the Countess of Wessex, who wants to highlight ‘the child’s point of view’.
She explains: ‘I’d like to be able to help other people come out and see my family’s story as a positive one.’

Alix is, however, already asking her father and his husband, James Coyle, 59, some difficult questions. Lord Ivar admits his response to some of them was: ‘Oh, my God, really? Do you want to know that?’
Lord Ivar, 58, is a first cousin, once removed, of Prince Philip and a third cousin, once removed, of the Queen. He divorced Alix’s mother Penny in 2011 after 17 years of marriage. She couldn’t have been more accepting of his new relationship, even giving him away at his wedding seven years later.
Protecting Alix and their two other daughters, Ella, 25, and Luli, 19, has always been a priority for the pair.
The whole family, including Coyle and Penny, are close, even spending lockdown together in 2020 at the family’s Grade I-listed Georgian home, Bridwell Park, in Devon.
Heiress India warns of online blackmail scam
When she inherited £329 million from her late porn and property mogul grandfather Paul Raymond, India Rose James became richer than the Queen. But she’s rapidly learned that such wealth brings a host of headaches.
The 30-year-old Soho heiress has revealed that a conman is posing online as her father, John James.
‘Someone is trying to impersonate my dad and is apparently going to try and blackmail him,’ she says.
‘If you receive a [dubious] message from a John James Soho, then please report the account.’
India’s father, 68, is a former model who runs Raymond’s company Soho Estates. He was hired by Raymond as general manager at The Windmill Theatre —where he met his future wife Debbie (India’s mother), who died from a drugs overdose in 1992.

Christmas cribs remained in churches across Britain until Candlemas yesterday, but Heidi Klum seems to be celebrating Easter already.

‘I’m always a risk-taker,’ Klum has explained.

Having conquered fashion, Klum has now set her sights on the pop world, releasing a song, Chai Tea With Heidi, featuring the rapper Snoop Dogg.
Marley’s girl visits reggae legend’s old Chelsea pad
For ever synonymous with Jamaica, Bob Marley’s success was also made in Chelsea.
The reggae superstar shared a flat in West London in the 1970s with his band, the Wailers, while recording their classic album Exodus, which includes some of their biggest hits, such as One Love/People Get Ready.

- Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs, who played evil wizard Lucius Malfoy, is mystified by Hollywood stars such as Will Smith and wife Jada, who are happy to reveal their most intimate secrets. ‘Will Smith and his family sit down and pour out their marital issues and stuff,’ he says, ‘What’s private?’ Isaacs, 58, admits their honesty is ‘valuable’ but adds: ‘I just don’t want to be that person’.
Political correctness increasingly dictates that only gay actors can play homosexual characters, but writer and comedian David Walliams is not amused.
‘There are some amazing actors who are not gay, like Sean Penn playing Harvey Milk — he won an Oscar,’ the Britain’s Got Talent judge says. ‘The best actors should play the role.’
Walliams says his former Little Britain co-star Matt Lucas, who is gay, believed some straight thespians would twist the truth to win a role. ‘I remember talking to Matt about it, and he said some people might lie a little bit about it to get the part.’
Cool as a cucumber on screen, BBC newsreader Reeta Chakrabarti found acting as chair of the Costa Book Awards rather more stressful. The judging panel included Wimbledon champion Andy Murray’s animated mother Judy.
‘It’s been a really intense and quite emotional experience,’ Chakrabarti tells me. ‘The judges were all quite passionate and vigorous. I do feel like I lived several days in one day doing this. I almost felt more like I was an umpire, given that we had Judy Murray on our panel.’
