EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Keira Knightley is dropping her famous surname

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Keira Knightley is officially dropping her famous surname to take her husband James Righton’s instead… eight years after they married

Keira Knightley is one of the biggest names in showbiz, but not for much longer.

I can reveal the Hollywood star has decided to drop her famous surname. She has informed the authorities that she’s taking the name of her husband, James Righton, eight years after they were married.

This week, the playwright’s daughter submitted documents to Companies House registering the change.

It comes six years after Keira said she was considering the move but was too ‘scared’ to go through with it. ‘I went to do the passport thing,’ she explained, ‘I was thinking, “Shall I do it? It will be helpful.”

But you actually have to see it written down, and I found I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t go there.’

Keira, 36, who starred in films including Pirates of the Caribbean, Atonement and The Imitation Game, has two daughters with the former Klaxons singer, 37: Edie, five, and Delilah, one.

Despite reporting the minutiae of Prince Harry’s courtship of Meghan Markle in his sycophantic biography, Finding Freedom, Omid Scobie doesn’t appear to be a details man.

I hear the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s cheerleader has been issued with a formal notice that his publishing services business, Meyou Ltd, will be struck off the Companies House register and dissolved.

This suggests he would have received a penalty of £1,500 for failing to file his accounts on time. Scobie declines to comment, but criminal action can follow, with property and rights then belonging to the Crown.

Hirst is clearly bowled over by young lover

He’s one of the world’s most famous artists. But Damien Hirst doesn’t want fans to forget who he is.

The former enfant terrible of the art world, 55, is pictured wearing a name badge and with a bowl on his head as he dined out al fresco with his girlfriend, former ballerina Sophie Cannell, who’s 28 years his junior.

Hirst wore a face mask around his chin and a bottle of antibacterial hand gel hanging from his neck as he tucked into a plate of chips and a whole crab at the Mayfair restaurant Scott’s.

Happily, the crab wasn’t pickled in formaldehyde.

Battle royal for Earthshot title

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced their £50 million Earthshot environmental prize, they signed up national treasure Sir David Attenborough and pop superstar Shakira as judges.

Now, they might need Attenborough’s gravitas and Shakira’s charm to help them win an acrimonious battle.

I can reveal that the royal couple are in dispute with an American gaming business called Earthshot. The not-for-profit company, which was set up to ‘inspire climate action through video games’, has formally opposed an application by William and Kate’s Royal Foundation to trademark the phrase ‘Earthshot Prize’.

A Royal Foundation source says it’s ‘working with the US organisation to resolve this’. Let battle commence!

‘Domestic goddess’ Iris Law gets saucy

Say hello to the new Nigella! Jude Law and Sadie Frost’s daughter, Iris Law, hopes to become a domestic goddess.

The 20-year-old Burberry model has launched her own YouTube channel which, she says, will cover ‘food, beauty, and everything in-between’.

In the first video she presents a recipe tutorial for the oddly sounding blueberry and blue cheese focaccia, which she describes as ‘delicious’, before playfully blowing a kiss to the camera.

Iris clearly wants to have a finger in every pie: she’s also landed a big role in Danny Boyle’s forthcoming television drama about the Sex Pistols.

Chilling in sex-and-dragons drama Game Of Thrones, Charles Dance can be daunting in real life, too, if you ask him for a selfie.

‘Hate it,’ the actor admits. ‘I try to decline as graciously as I can, but I’d rather not. Most people accept it, but some say, “Oh, really?” As if it’s obligatory, which it’s not.’

Dance fumes: ‘I can be sitting in a car, at night, in the rain, at traffic lights, and somebody on the other side of the road points and says, “Hello Charlie, you all right?” ’ Sounds like road rage to me.

Ab Fab star Joanna Lumley (right) has played numerous parts but the real-life role she yearns for is that of a rag-and-bone man.

The actress wants to collect used plastic from people’s houses. ‘I hate litter with such a passion,’ she says.

‘I want to be a rag-and-bone man. I want a horse and a cart and a bell and I would say, “Hello everybody, it’s Joanna here bring out your stuff”, and they’ll all come down and I would pay them for it.

‘I’ve discovered if you give people money, they’ll do anything.’

She already has an astonishing 13 godchildren, including supermodel Cara Delevingne, and now Dame Joan Collins has added to her dynasty.

The actress, who turns 88 this month, has just become godmother to child No 14: Beau Bamford. He’s the baby son of California ranch owner Alice Bamford and her American partner, Ann Eysenring.

Beau’s grandparents are JCB billionaire Lord Bamford and his wife, the Daylesford organic food tycoon Carole.

The smart set’s talking about… Parker Bowles spilling the tea

The American revolution was sparked by the Boston Tea Party, and now Prince Charles’s stepson, Tom Parker Bowles, claims tea still marks the great divide with this country.

‘Forget that over-sweetened American rubbish,’ declares the Duchess of Cornwall’s son, who’s written a new book for the Queen’s grocer Fortnum & Mason called Time For Tea. ‘Tea generally in America is bad.’

However much you’re prepared to pay on the other side of the Atlantic, it fails to make a difference. ‘Even if you go to the Carlyle or Beverly Hills Hotel you can’t get a decent cup,’ Parker Bowles claims. ‘That’s why friends out there always ask you to bring teabags. I love America. There is nothing rude meant about anyone at all. But come on, American iced tea is sh**e.’

Fortnum’s created a special blend of tea to mark the birth of Prince George, but no such honour has been conferred on his cousin Archie. Aware Anglo-American relations are a royal sore point after Prince Harry and Meghan moved to California, he insists: ‘You’d have to ask Fortnum’s why there isn’t another special blend.’
