EastEnders star Aaron Sidwell reveals he’s ENGAGED to girlfriend with loved-up snap

Aaron Sidwell, 30, posted a smitten photo of himself and his now fiancée kissing after his romantic proposal at London’s Carnaby Street.

Standing in front of the Carnaby sign, the couple embraced one another with Tricia placing her hand on her beau’s face.

Aaron, who played Steven Beale in EastEnders from 2007 to 2017, looked dressed up for the special occasion as he wore a purple short-sleeved shirt.

While Tricia, who starred in Benidorm Live, looked stunning in a burgundy lace cami top.

The former soap star captioned the loved-up picture: “Here’s to the future Mrs Sidwell #SheSaidYes.”

Aaron was inundated with well wishes and many of his co-stars also commented on his post.

Tilly Keeper, who plays Louise Mitchell, posted: “Congratulations,” alongside a love heart.

Ian Beale actor, Adam Woodyatt, said: “Congratulations.”

Former Tracy Beaker actress, Dani Harmer, commented: “Yay congratulations dude!! Lots of love!!!! Xxxx.”

The location for the proposal was special for the couple as Aaron and Tricia first met when they both starred in Carnaby Street: The Musical.

Aaron was previously married to Grace Isted from 2009 but separated in 2013.

They share two daughters together, Matilda, 10, and Isla, seven.

Aaron’s character, Steven, was killed off the soap in true dramatic EastEnders fashion in 2017.

Steven died of an internal haemorrhage after starting a fire following a fight with Max Branning (played by Jake Wood).

His final scenes saw Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) admit to him she was in love with him and that she was carrying his child.

Last year, Aaron spoke about his time on the show and admitted he wouldn’t do a soap again.

Speaking to The Daily Star, he said: “I don’t want to do a soap again. It wasn’t a discipline I enjoyed. I mean, I admire the actors on there who are so instinctive that they can do it, but I was definitely ready to go.”

Aaron went on to claim the environment on-set and in the studio wasn’t a very productive one.

“There was a lot of negativity around,” he said. “And my storylines did meander for me. I also think the soap actors can sometimes get taken for granted too.”

He added: “I always felt like I didn’t belong there quite as much as I do in a theatre environment. Doing theatre means you get to push boundaries a little more, and there’s always something new to discover.”

EastEnders continues tonight on BBC One at 8pm.
